I think the idea is to get started making them now so you can do things such as spray painting the flower pots outside while the weather is still somewhat warm......and also to have everything ready and waiting so when the busy month of December arrives they are ready to go!

Several of these aren't good ideas, so don't waste your time. The glass mason jars shatter in cold weather. The decoration baskets also topple over easily, breaking the jars, and the decorations placed in them can also be easily scattered by the wind. The giant ball ornaments are also easily susceptible to any type of wind issues and deflate if you live in a colder climate. (Think about air pressure changing in a tire compared to these thin and non insulated items.) The garland and bell idea can work as you can attach them fairly easily, though I would substitute zip ties in place of the small and easily bendable hooks for the bells (this stops them from coming loose in the wind as long as your lights and garlands are also securely attatched). The lanterns, I would also reccomend metal (for the weight), with a shatter proof glass made for outdoor use (they are more exspensive but nice), or the plastic lens ones that are also temperature tolerant for your area. Avoid glass bulbs as well. Foam and plastic shatter proof ones will be better for the holiday weather. Led lights are also preferred over regular bulbs, as they will not heat up and be a potential fire hazard. The pool noodles pose a different hazard other than blowing away. The fishing line can be bad that low to the ground if you have pets as it can pose a choking hazard to them. Playful puppies tend to love pool noodles and it only takes a second to get their paws on the line, they can need surgery if they ingest it also. (Opt for the dollar store candy canes instead.)

For the pool noodles, you could string some bendable wire through the noodle so you can shape it into a candy cane instead of using the fishing line.
