Omg I had to stop the video. I am so excited over your diys . It's exactly what I have been looking for . I thought the books were amazing especially because I remember having both of those books as a child. I especially remember the Rudolph one. And I was born in '71 so they were old then. Anyway I'm so freaking happy about the "aluminum tree " HAD TO STOP THE VIDEO!!! IVE BEEN DIYING FOR ONE IN MY LIVING ROOM LOL. AND NOW I KNOW EXACTLY HOW TO DO IT. I DON'T THINK IT WILL BE EASY BUT HEY.... LAST YEAR I PAINTED PURPLE GLITTER WOODEN BEADED GARLAND...TWELVE OF THEM . LOL. HAHA.. I was doing an old country Christmas., Buffalo check etc... I've always been a glam girl at heart tbh.. but I found at least til I found you my girl. That most of the channels are over the top. I think you put enough of your decor that you make it classy. I'll be honest my favorite color is "SHINY" LOL. And I love the sophisticated way you do your decor . Girl loved the trees you made I think it may have been an older video. But you made trees from wedding flower bells . Genius saved cash too because you used the ball woman after my own heart . And I am Canadian actually from Nova Scotia,Cape Breton Island so I have a Dollarama. Woot woot. I don't have a dollar tree . But I have a lovely friend and a sister diyer whom you may well know if not . Then check her out Daisy Tolson from Oopsie Daisy DIY and more .. she does everything that one. Diys ,Dollar tree hauls , she does cross stiching as well. She's amazing and I am proud to say a friend whom I have grown close to recently. She has actually taken me on a Dollar tree shopping trip via messenger lol... And has picked me up items that she knew I couldn't get at Dollarama. Now how's that for kindness. Just a great and talented gal like yourself. Love for you to give her a shout out girl. And I pop plan on doing a channel soon hopefully. Yeah right. Just opened and used my Cricut joy today only had it 6 months. Oh game changer.for sure. Anyway I'll get back to the video lol . Love your channel. So glad I'm here

The tree, hands down! I remember when I was a little girl at Christmas we had an aluminum tree that was lit by one of those rotating, color-changing lights that would circle around and change the color of the tree. Kids are so mesmerized by that!!

My mother bought a 4or5 ft aluminum tree back in the day. Not that we were crazy about it but I think she enjoyed not having to buy a real tree every year. I love the books or boxes. Instead of having a google and printers to use but we used a Sears and Roebuck catalog to use ideas and for pictures. Thanks

I grew up with one of those silver trees - and we also had a real tree too. I LOVE the ornaments. One of the one I've held onto from my childhood is the ones similar to the terrarium ornaments. I think I will make one of those for each of my grandchildren. Thank you!

The little books were, hands down, the best. Next would be the silver tree. My grandma had one, but with no ornaments. Instead there was a light off to the side that had a color wheel that went round and round changing colors on the tree. I think the tree turned too. I was mesmerized.

Good morning Stephanie, those cutouts would be cute on a tier tray, we use to make them but using cardboard to stand them up back in the 60's. Oh my I had that little book. Oh yeah the Tree and the Popcorn Garlanland so many memories you have brought back my complete childhood even the little tree. This is my absolute FAVORITE Video sorry to all the other ladies. Only thing missing is the other garland made out of made from construction paper...lol....love the snow globe also. We had some like that but didn't make them, I still have a Santa one like that.

What great ideas ! ! . . As a child of the late 50-60's I can truly enjoy your creations ! We had a large silver tree in my 2nd grade classroom ! I always hated them and laugh now when people call them "desirable" . . LOL . 😂 . . #1 . Had you thought of perhaps adding a few little bells in the classic cover faux books before you glue them shut ? Just an extra touch you and your family/guests would find a bit of fun . . 🤷 . . Jingle bells were always popular in my early years. . Another idea ? #3 . Put a small tea light (available at Dollar Tree) in the terrarium ornaments . . Placing them in front of the figures would make them easy to get to for replacement batteries . . #2. Painting what would be the top of the ball a dark or royal blue turning it upside down . When it's dry paint what would be the bottom inside of the ornament white . Turn it so the blue is on top and the white on the bottom . Add tiny gold stars ( available in the "Make Your Own Jewelry" section at Walmart) to the blue painted area of the inside of the ornament and you have a little stary night ! Add faux snow and a figure of your choice . . . Thanks again for the ideas ! You really got my creative juices flowing ! ! . . 🤔.😲 . 😁. . Again , . . Hurray for Vintage ! ! . . 🎄 . 🥰

Thank you so much Sharon 💜! I had a lot of help from my dad on this one he grew up in the 50’s so he gave me lots of little tips lol! Those are all fabulous ideas I would have never thought about putting bells in the book and the tea lights in the ornaments is genius!

@@MamaCanMakeIt Thanks for writing back ! . I loved art sin I was a little kid . I drew a picture of my dad when I was three , it's hilarious . My mom still has it ! . . I even remembered his belly button . Imagine that ! . . 😅. . Took every art class I could in school . Good thing too . I was terrible at sports . . 😲 . . Worked at then managed Floral shops during my years and did wedding flowers at home . I loved it . 💐. .I don't have much of an outlet for it now as I'm living alone and retired . I'm so glad to pass on my ideas . Hope they may give you some more ideas . . 🤔 . . By the way , I thought maybe a little pyrimid of sticks to fit over the tea light I mentioned ? . . Vewl-la . . A campfire or fire in a fireplace . 🔥. . Thanks again . . Looking forward to more of your DIY's .! ! ! .🥰
