Hey Will, I invite you to try this tutorial I made specifically about Line-Weight: www.thedesignsketchbook.com/how-to-draw-line-weight-industrial-design-sketching/ Hope it helps!!

Great! Line control is what I really struggle with. I know I need to practice, but honestly just drawing lines over and over again can get so boring lol. I will try these exercises. I just need to set aside time every day to just do it. Thank you again!!!

Try these exercises, then start drawing simple things you personally like. And apply these on them! :) You will see that it is super worth it. Have you watched Karate Kid, when Master Miyagi teach on how to wash a car? :) That is about the same here. We learn the theory by practicing our memory of forms (Not only our brain, but also the muscles of our arm remember). BTW, I plan to create videos about drawings plenty of different things from product, animation, fashion... and give drawing and creativity tips along the way. Maybe you prefer that format? Let me know!

I did this as a morning exercise, and found that it really relaxed me, and helped with the. "fear of the blank page" syndrome.

Morning is amazing. It s like a creative gym exercise routine before starting the day! That s true, the blank paper is no more so intimidating, and we become more "friend" with blank paper. Thanks for your feedback Martin.

@@Thedesignsketchbook by the way, I spent a lot of time in France, and the mother of the family I stayed with used to say "Up-lah" all the time. I loved hearing that again.

@@mgmartin51 Hahaha, glad you like it. Yes I am French (Chinese roots) and I lived in Singapore. I learned most of my English with Singaporeans, and they often use Leh La Lor to end their sentence. My girlfriend thought "Hop La" may be Singaporean. Nop! It is French! (My mom used to say that all the time too.)

I liked watching the video. I find it interesting...because, I'm English currently learning to speak 'intermediate' French...to hear a native French speaker talking/writing English fluently. Next, I like the idea of 'letting go th fear'...
@Thedesignsketchbook16 күн бұрын
Ho thanks for describing as fluent Paul. I wish to be there! But I can express my ideas. It happened that some non-native English speaker could understand me better since I use simple words. So just speak, what matters is people understand you, not being picky at the grammar. It is much more fun that way! Bon courage pour le francais! Et bravo pour le niveau intermediaire. C'est tres fort!
