I love everything about this. 2 years ago I bought a (big) house in rural France. No water. No power. Roof needed replaced etc etc. Bit by bit it’s coming together and I hope to be in it permanently around August. The neighbours have been wonderful and not at all cold or unfriendly (quite the opposite actually). I can’t wait to get away from the city, and the constant bad news, and the never-ending vibe of “ me me me” that seems to have taken over the world. You’re an example Matheus. And that house in that place has become very special. A little corner of the world that is entirely yours. ❤️❤️❤️👌🏼

For me, it's the quiet, contemplative moments that speak volumes in your videos. I crave the quiet places, where the sound of nature can be heard. A place where one can simply BE; to exist in one moment of time where, standing still, breathing the fresh air can rejuvenate the soul.

The book you are reading is very relevant and to what we are experiencing here in the US. I've read books like that and can see it happening, but many don't unfortunately. The lessons of the 1930s and 40s have been lost with the passing of the generation that lived through them.

Good Morning! I highly recommend (if you have not already read him) any of the works of Dr. Timothy Snyder. He has documented the history of authoritarianism/fascism and uses it to demonstrate how it is returning now. I'm going to get a copy of the book Matheus was reading in today's video to add to my library.

Fascism is not the threat we face, its socialism. There is no dictatorship or authoritarianism (core tenets of Fascism) happening in the US. That is nonsense. In most Western democracies extreme-Left wokism is being weeded out. This is plain common sense - not fascism.

Really nice to see you face the camera and be able to smile with your power working again. Was it an easy fix? I think a few more people should be reading that book the way things are at the moment. It's great that you can be away from all the crap in the world and yet still connect to the internet when you want/need to keep in touch and create these great videos for us..😃 I was thinking you could possibly winch your quad back up to the track using something like a 'come along' lever manual ratchet winch, a good strong rope or cable and a sturdy tree. If you do get it back, share some good shots of the damage with us.. I and others here may be able to help you fix some of it and save some money..

Hello Matheus! I have my own little frazione in the vco province near Lago maggiore.in February we start having very warm ,strong winds.in German they are called südföhn,and they are the typical headache weather in the alps. If you have a River or a creek near your house, water somewhere near you ,invest in a generator water pump and tubes like the firefighters have. These so called baitas ,rustici have close to zero insurance coverage. It will be on you to protect it from wildfires. And if you are in this area more often ,you will witness them too. Also, when you walk Around in the forest you will notice the biggest danger on the ground. These areas are so big ,they can never be cleaned of the fallen leaves from last fall. be warned: one cigarette can be one too many. Also ,you could ask Local forest workers,or even a helicopter,to pull out your quad. They have pulleys to drag the much heavier lumber out of the forest, and can easily Deal with your quad. If you are in the area i suspect, start looking at its rich history. The partiggiani held the only liberated place in Europe during the world war 2 here,in the republic of ossola/valgrande. And in many of these houses you see around you, they ,or the Jewish families from Milan, vercelli and Torino were hiding, before crossing over to Switzerland or be discovered by the nazis and deported to a concentration camp. Also, try to study the culture and buildings of the Walser. They were the only ones willing or capable of cultivating that steep land you live on,build on it, and even thrive on it. Good luck with your project . You will find a lot of peace ,passion and purpose in what you do,i promise 🍀💗 Greetings from a Swiss in ossola

So glad you have found a good neighbor in Claudio.. Having one's own space is wonderful, but human contact is necessary for a mentally and emotionally healthy life. Are there frescoes in that old church beside the fountain? It reminded me of some of the old chapels that Johannes (Martijn's neighbor) stopped at on his walking pilgrimage... I looked up Eco''s "Fascism Eterno", and it made me think of what could all too easily happen here in the United States - given our current political climate. A good reminder, thank you..!!!
