Why are you guys so against debt? With the way inflation has been it would have been cheaper to get debt at 6% and buy what you needed two years ago than wait two years to have enough money but prices have gone up 20%
@tinkeringtim79994 күн бұрын
@MrJeffHead debt is a noose around your neck. Things can easily change and you get hit hard on the back-swing. e.g. Mortgage debt works as long as the government and Central bank can collude to keep inflation rising in hidden ways. Bail-outs are the only reason people haven't been mass homeless and poor twice already, but they've bankrupted the state. As soon as US hegemony falls, we won't be able to play those games, everyone stuck with a Mortgage or other debts will be feasted on.

@@heatherk8931 oh yeah, im definitly trying to get into school again! i've done a few (practical schools) already, but none were fun enough to get a job in the subjects they were teaching. most people just start working at a random place, and stay there for years... they need the money after all! but me? nah, i've tried so many odd jobs, heck, today i had an exam for becoming a proffesional cocktail maker/shaker! i found it not as fun after all, so i keep chasing that perfect job...and THEN.... we can make money!

As a builder in South West I know what its like trying to do your day job and then do building on your own project. Its very labour intensive and speed is slow because you can only give the amount of time that you have free! Tempers get frayed, workload feels like its a dead weight, but, the rewards at the end, far outweigh the trouble, effort and strife in achieving your dream. My only advice is keep going as you are, you will get there and make sure to treat yourselves to a night off or night out to get away from the project. you will be surprised at just how rejuvenating a weekend off can help!

You are doing it the best way- working and paying for it as you go. The world may think you aren't doing something fast enough but it's your money, your life and your budget. With rare exception my husband and I have worked, saved and done the work on our home by ourselves learning as we went but in the end we had no debt hanging over our heads. We both worked full time jobs and saved our money that allowed us to do tasks a little at a time. The way you are doing this now will only help your future selves and the opportunties for additional income in the future with the campsites will allow you to save more and do more as you go along. Take your time. I enjoy the updates when ever they come. Lots of respect from this old lady. Here's hoping you get to move in by Christmas!

Quality re-cap having missed a few videos over some of the last year. Will never understand anyone complaining too slow etc. it's people like yourselves and a few others that show a more realistic and proper way of going about all this while still having too work jobs and play the long game which will work out a lot better in the end. There's some great off grid channels doing good things but they seem to get crazy stuff delivered every other week just about , which is so unrealistic and more or less impossible to most people who are interested in learning about living this type of way. Great to see it coming together from where you first started. Hats off to you both & all the best

My Grandparents, bought an old mining rubbish dump in Cornwall back in the 70s. It took them over 20 years to get the land where they wanted it to be. They lived in a small timber cabin while they spent years battling with planing and converting an old building into their home. I grew up spending all my time with them they are the fondest memories I have of my childhood. They didn’t want debt like you guys and they enjoyed the process of making their own little world. You guys are on an amazing adventure and the longer it takes the more time you have to enjoy the journey. You guys go your own way it really doesn’t matter what any of us think as long as you’re happy and it’s not hurting anyone, that’s a winning life, Good luck and enjoy!!

A great re-cap, much better in small parts than one that's over an hour long 😞...it takes vision, determination, hard work, luck, support and everything else to succeed and you are both clearly winning ❤️

It's really nice to see a recap video... so we can see how far you've come and get an idea of the big picture you have in mind to bring into reality. I hope you maintain that sense of accomplishment even when it feels like you are just spinning your wheels. Every little accomplishment makes a difference. Thanks for sharing this journey with us.

It’s amazing to see in a time lapse just how much you have achieved. I have watched from the beginning and appreciate the amount of work that has been, you are not to slow and to be debt free at the finish is the best goal. I know it’s also time consuming to film and edit what you are doing. ( even though it’s part of you job it still takes time.) thank you so much for sharing 🇦🇺
