I have been practicing all of these for a couple of years now and it has absolutely helped in more ways than I can count. I no longer get dragged to the depths for simple slights, I have cut down on negative chatter in my head by about 99% and I have cultivated a much brighter perspective on life finally. I'm not saying that everything is completely squared away but I no longer use my head as the paddle to my boat(if that makes sense). Thanks to this channel and others like it and some good ole fashion therapy, I'm out of the cave. Thank you again for caring, have a good one o/.

Useful video. In life there are only 2 problems--mind and the body. Be careful what you feed your mind. Avoid comparing yourself with others, reduce watching negative social media and avoid constipation as it affects the mind instantly. Your breathing is closely related to the brain [mind] and gives relief from stress-anxiety. For a relaxed mind observe the sensations of your incoming--outgoing breath at the entrance of the nostrils for 10-15-20 minutes or more. You can sit or lay down anywhere-anytime. No deep breathing. Don’t fight your thoughts. With practice the mind will relax. Keep a reminder to observe your breath sensations throughout the day and night before sleep, at work at home, when travelling etc with eyes open or closed. One more tip is to sit on a chair without moving, be still and observe your breath for a few minutes. Stillness reduces thoughts and brings quick relief. Like me make this a lifetime habit to have a better life. Best wishes--Counsellor.

This is the best video i have seen from you. I was having a difficult day. My mental health took a bit of a hit. I kind of needed reassurance. So looking at healthy habits to make you mentally strong helped. I'm going through a stressful time. Most of the things in this video i do. So it helped me to validate myself. Being in charge of emotions. Yes i awknowledge and accept them. I suppose a fall out with a friend yesterday is playing on my mind today. Making me feel a little low. But mindfulness here can be helpful. To be sat quiet in the present. Learn to feel the emotion. Does it create different sensations in your body. Does it alter your breath. I do question my thoughts and beliefs. I always like to learn new things. I like to find out about other people's cultures, environments and psychology. I'm always researching new things. For me this helps winden my knowledge and understanding in 'wise mind'. The course sounds so perfect for me. I had been at university. But left in my first year due to physical and mental ill health. I wouldn't be able to commit as my daily life can change. I'm trying to use interpersonal skils (part of DBT Skills Training Handouts and Worksheets by Marsha Linehan) to set boundaries. I felt yesterday after explaining and asserting myself to my friend. That they continued to disregard my boundaries. Which from the first point. I was completely reasonable with them, i did not show anger or frustration. Also within the DBT we look at the 'chain reaction' which explores what prompting event caused our behaviour. What did we say or do. Why? What were the consequences? What could we have done differently Social media, is a big one for me. I found alot of that caused my panic attacks and seizures. So i came off. I didnt delete my accounts. I only share information to do with charity work or consumer announcements. Scam emails / text i have been sent asking for personal information. I dont post every day about my personal life. I dont make my life look better than what it is. I find looking at posts like that. Have a detrimental effect on my mental health. Taking time for myself. I needed to see this today. I do need to take time for my mind to rest and relax. Which had caused me a migraine the last few days. Tomorrow I plan to watch my favourite TV shows / film. For this I always used to eat my favourite foods. But they are unhealthy. I can get into a cycle of comfort eating --> putting on weight --> feeling bad about myself. So I need to be careful with this

As a student I never run out of work and to take brakes is nearly impossible because during the brake I think about the things I have to do. To avoid unproductive brakes, I started to make a day plan: At 5pm my day stops and it‘s clean-up time. At 6pm dinner. At 7pm evening-program. I can do whatever I want to to restore energy. Sunday is my free day. No work, just relaxing. To sum-up. It helped me to define work time. It‘s also okay to do something different because of the lack of inspiration for a specific task. Work is work. If it‘s ironing, studiing or working on protocols.

@tillythehat3 жыл бұрын
First of all, DON’T YOU DARE START HATING YOURSELF AND/OR BLAMING YOURSELF FOR HOW THEY ARE ACTING! Don’t make excuses for them! When someone shows you their true colours, BELIEVE THEM. Secondly, know that you are amazing, unique, and loved, no matter what, okay?? (Sends big virtual hug through the screen) ;-; I know exactly what you are going through...and I am so, so, so sorry. 💛 I am not gonna lie, from experience, it is going to be tough. Really tough. I sadly don’t know the context of your situation, but.....there are two ways this could go: 1.If they are a TRULY good friend (really think that through) try and calmly talk it out, and maybe you two can figure it out. 2.However, and this will be REALLY hard, especially if you two are very close, to see that person as a whole. BOTH the good AND the bad. If they are toxic, and exploiting you, have lied to you, have talked behind your back, all the no no’s....then, honestly, you might want to consider cutting that kind of friendship out, but in a way that leaves you two NOT as enemies, but as strangers with some good memories. If this does happen, PLEASE try and surround yourself with true friends...people that will love you and be there for you no matter what! Special Option 3.OR your friend is going through a tough time, and took it out on you without realizing it. If so, give them time. Also, try and talk about this with your family (if you have a great bond with them, and are open) or, if not, a friend that will listen. It is good to get different opinions on this sort of thing. Yes, heartbreak from a lover can be hard but honestly.....heartbreak from loosing a best friend is tenfold that kind of pain.... PLEASE take care of yourself, drink some water, eat your favourite snack, and talk with people you can trust and that will make you laugh. Also, PLEASE know....you WILL and CAN get through this! I might just be a random person from the Internet, but I KNOW are strong, you are capable, and you are gonna be okay! 💛

@Profile Name I'm sorry about the painful experience you had to go through with people who pretended to be your friends, but please don't project that anxiety on to others. People are different, some will betray you and some won't. If we start to treat each other like enemies, that wil be the end of us. And also, not everyone has good relationships with their family memebers, so trusting someone just because you have similiar genes with them is not always a good idea.

I love how mental strength is talked about so much, but so few people manage to work towards it successfully.

Having a severe motor car accident jerked my consciousness into gear, about all the unnecessary things personally accumulated and the folly of social media as pointed out! I have acquired space and time to shape my world and grow meaningfully as an accident survivor!

I always enjoy your videos! I share them too. Talking to a friend about selfcare, I realized I didn't know many options for selfcare aimed at males. Often I think of things women might enjoy, but men may feel unmotivated to do especially when stuck indoors. Do you think a video could be made focusing on it? It's a video I think many could benefit from. Thank you so much for your beautiful videos. ❤

a majority of the time I spend on social media is just either watching explanatory videos like this chillin to music or finding answers to problems in games as well as it being my own news source for video game development

Out of 6 I practise 4 habits in my life. I am constantly working on the other 2 habits ie. Creating healthy boundaries and being able to control my emotions. And then this video came out and I'm so glad to know that I'm on the right path.😇 Thank you psych2go for such a wonderful and helpful video. I always look forward to apply everything that I learn from your channel in my life.❤

Thank you... TTvTT 💕 I'm always questioning myself and thought it was a negative habit.. Something self-destructive.. It's nice to know that it's actually a good thing~

I agree with number one, but I always wanted to tell my "talking buddy" what my feeling is during the conversation. Thus, I tend to say. "Right now, I feeling sad/angry/upset/etc, but Im trying not to yell. And this is what I though as the solution/question..." This way Im not lying with my emotion. I think many people is trying too hard to hide their feeling to the point they are going insanely mad.

Whenever Psych2Go makes a video about mental strength,they always tend to makes social media a thing that we should never touch but i understand why.

Not NEVER touch but monitor our time on social media and do not let it become something that gets in the way of our goals, dreams, activities, etc. It’s not all bad but typically we spend way too much time on it, with nothing to show for it.
