KT22 is the name of a mountain peak at palisades. Legends has it that In 1946, before there were lifts in Palisades Tahoe, Sandy Poulsen, wife of the resort’s founder, hiked a steep 8,200-foot peak to the left of where KT22 Express return station now sits. Not Intimidated, she traversed back and forth to descend, making only 22 kick turns (KTs). Hence the name.
