i'm still annoyed that this channel is this underrated. 16k subs is just ridiculous. it should be at least 10 times that on a platform where half the shit is 9,000 people rapidly copying the latest stolen trend idea and they get more subs, and this guy's spending his own time and money on actual new experimentation on something as universal as music. Anything under 100k for this channel is just evidence of youtube favoritism, I'm calling rigged.

Here me out. The biggest problem with a fret less bass is the fact that slapping sounds dead. Imagine a metal fingerboard like aluminum or something. The tone could be amazing with roundwound strings. I want to see this SOOO badly.

There is a kit you can buy online for a 16.3 inch scale length guitar and you should be able to get to d3 standard or maybe even a full octave over standard tuning, would be an interesting continuation of the soprano guitar. Also there are electric ukes that are as low as 13 inches

I think a really fun video you could do is a guitar from scratch. My first instrument (granted it was a ukulele) was made with only hand tools and a dremel. Hell, I used nails as the frets and pretty much had a scalloped fretboard because of the size of the nails.

i left a comment awhile ago about making a 12 string that has all octave strings (no doubles). i ended up buying a really cheap Rogue 12 string that was on sale for 75 bucks or so. I bought some strings off string joy and i bought a five pack of d’addario .007s. i managed to get it the tuning from A1 to A5 open. it sounds pretty cool! hard to play it though, and barre chords sound like garbage. if you wanna try doing it i can dig up what string gauges i used

Hello Kevin-STM and everybody. Does anyone know which Effects Pedal would make my standard-EADG bass sound like it’s 1 octave lower (E0) - but *without* sounding like a synth? I just want to sound the closest possible to the Kalium bass. Many many thanks. 🙏

@@SaidTooMuchProductions What vid? I've only found people putting them on bass or acoustic. But I wanna see them in an electric guitar context.

Video idea: try coming up with something in this tuning I invented, I use it on my 8 string, I use a 90, a 60, and then a standard 42-9 set on the remaining 6 strings, the tuning is C1 G1 C2 G2 C3 F#3 G3 C4, sometimes I do it a half step higher, C#1 G#1 C#2 G#2 C#3 G3 G#3 C#4, either way, the interval between the 3rd and 4th highest strings is a flat fifth, and then the 3rd and 2nd highest strings are only a note apart, barring the 4 highest strings can get some pretty cool Josh Travis-ish dissonant effects, it almost sounds like a whammy pedal, pretty cool tuning, I love your channel, I've been watching your channel since 2018 :), I live two hours South of you, I love your videos and experimentation!!!! Keep up the great work :)
