Good tips. The point you said about curves really stood out to me. I don’t want to wear anything too form fitting. Even if it’s long I don’t want to show my body. I see a lot of form fitted long attire lately but to me it is still showing off a lot of the body.

@@BrokeToBlessed I was apostolic for a year and a half and decided it’s not for me. I accidentally joined a apostolic cult. God removed me but these people still harrass me even though I’ve been out of it for 9 months. My advice is stay away from apostolic. Denomination is not right. Just stick to your Bible and daily devotion to Jesus. 🙏

Being an LDS Christian Fashion Designer, I can tell you that even knee length, pencil skirts have a tendency to ride up, when you sit, so sit in front of a mirror, to check that it's not so tight across the thighs, that ppl can see your drawers, before you leave the house. Especially when crossing your legs, make sure your temple garments aren't hanging out. With all the trafficking, & porn addiction, that goes on these days, women need to be careful how they dress, b/c we never know when some creep might be perving on us. A little makeup is ok, to look well groomed, but no clown, goth hair, or heavy makeup, you can scrape off with a spatula.

Thank you! I am newish and just getting used dresses and skirts and tops as gifts from my church family. I am wondering about brooches on dresses or scarfs are they frowned upon or seen as jewelry? I am taking sequins off a dress I was given because they are starting to come off anyway but I would like to add something to this dress to make it look a little more fancy. We wear long sleeves skirts at least 3 inches below your knees NO knee showing... Well when i started praying for the holy ghost i wore the worst shirt ever lol it had sleeves long enough but WWWAAAYYYY too loose i raised my arms😂😂😂 and them sleeves went all the way up....That poor shirt is now ruined but the good thing is i got the holy ghost and a shout ☺☺☺ a loud scream...

I’m an so thankful there are still people that have these standards and still have a desire to tell people about modesty. I’m apostolic Pentecostal so these are exactly the modesty checks I have to make. I do sign choir at my church and the woman that is over all of sign choir even at church camp are always telling us woman and men to check ourselves because that could be an issue with your relationship with god or just with your church and that could lead you to not being used a lot in services so thank you for that.

hello , I love your modesty. I greatly appreciate it . 😍 I am not Pentecostal but I still follow modesty . I am Catholic 😊 I enjoy seeing other women respect thier bodies by covering them . I started sewing so I can make my daughter long skirts. ever since she was a baby, she's been wearing skirts. it's so hard to find modest clothing . The real question is Why are all of these “standards” set? The real answer is…Not to provoke a man to sin! That is the core reason of setting standards for UPC women. The Bible doesn’t set the “standards”, women don’t set the standards. Men of the organization & local churches do. The pastor first then the husband does.

I am Apostolic. & when I go to the gym I wear a t shirt with a thin long tank underneath and a just below knee length skirt with below knee leggings underneath. You can find many modest clothes for any activity even swimming! Being holy in all matters of conversation does not mean not involved, it just simply means you will not look like the world! Sorry but WHO are you or ANYBODY to say what’s modest. If everybody has different standards or whatever for conviction for holiness, then why are there “rules” you follow. Why not just follow your OWN conviction instead of just listening to whatever rules your pastor or church tells you. Just think for yourself. 🧐 also, if any “curves” are showing or anything, you throw the skirt out? Are you ashamed of your body? Or trying to hide it from men. Coming from a second gen EX-Pentecostal, raised in it from 1-18, I remember being told that we don’t want to be a stumbling block or cause men unwanted lustful thoughts. Who are WE to try and control someone else’s thoughts? That’s not our responsibility. That’s not anybody’s responsibility. That’s really victim-blame-y. Blaming the women’s actions for the men’s thoughts. We are all responsible for our own thoughts, correct? Remember the scripture Philippians 4:8 King James Version since you guys LOVEEE KJV. “Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.” IMPLYING that we do in FACT have control of our thoughts. So why are Pentecostals shoving down women’s throats that they should COVER THEIR BODIES so the men don’t fucking LUST after them. Seems a little misogynistic to me.
