What I like best about your videos is how you never try to make people feel stupid if they haven’t yet tried to improve themselves/their circumstances or make them feel bad if they did try but failed to follow thru. You give out gentle encouragement and even pepper in points where you’ve made your own mistakes. I appreciate your approach. I think in the past I have let guilt be my motivator and that never really works out well in the long run because that means always coming from the perspective that everything one does is wrong or bad.

Nate, great post, thanks. Wish I had had more financial advice 30 years ago. One point, the idea of buying a Rolex watch is actually a great investment. They NEVER lose their value. I love to collect things, always have, all of my life. Stamps, coins, knives, historical firearms, etc. And watches. The day I bought my Rolex Submariner (no date), its value was approximately $3,000 MORE than what I paid for it, which was retail through a Rolex dealer. My uncle has a vintage Rolex (Submariner) and it is worth over $20K! Food for thought.

Brother, I wish I had known these things when I was in my early 20's. I accepted debt as just a part of life instead of being intentional about taking on as little as possible.

Hi!! A new subscriber here!! And that what you you make reference about showing off possessions and material sttuff so that people approved of and look up to them is just pure ego and probably low self-esteem cause someone with high self-esteem doesn't need people approval!!
