6 months ago I had major hip surgery. This is a raw video of me recounting the past 6 months, and sharing some insight I've developed through recovery. Hopefully you find it inspiriting/encouraging. God is so faithful. No way I would have made it through this without HIM or my community.
Maybe I'll do another one at 1 year.
If you find yourself in need of any hip work go see Dr. Ferguson! www.taniafergurson.com

This is so helpful! Thank you for sharing. I’m 34 and just had this surgery 10 days ago. You’ve eased my mind just knowing that another active person had this and pushed through. ❤

I really needed this video. I'm 22 years old and I had PAO surgery exactly 2 months ago, and I already started physical teraphy and u know, it's SO frustrating sometimes when I have to do a movement and I cannot fully do it, but I started to focus on what I can do and less on what I can't do, and honestly like you said, "my hip, my story". This process is a really BIG thing, and now I know that this process get out the BEST version of ourselves, our encourage and brave version, bc it requires A LOT of mental strenght. I write this from México, and I'm very grateful with you for share your process with us and makes us less lonely.

Thank you very much. I’m 31 with three kids under 6 and you have definitely prepared me for what I have ahead in one months time. It has woke me up to a lot more than I hadn’t thought of, especially community and family friends support. I’m in NZ with no family support isolated some what on a farm. My husband is going to become superman as he is helping me and also the kids and also working full-time on the farm. I also am getting my other hip done 1yr post first hip surgery. Gonna be a mad couple years eh!

Funny enough, I'm 33 and just had a PAO 10 days ago. Thank you for your honest video. Things were different for me like no epidural (local anesthesia), 5 in scar, but my understanding is everything else was about the same. I wasnt able to do any lower body stuff for months before the surgery except in physical therapy with assistance. I am jealous that you had a bar to lift yourself after surgery. THAT was what i wanted but didn't get...i also have to use a granny walker and would love some crutches. Maybe next week at the post-op apt i can get some lol! Thank you for your story!

Thank you for this. My 18 year old daughter is in day one recovery from her PAO at CHOP with a goal of getting back to dance training after her second PAO come May. She needs to set a stout heart for a steep hill.

I’m not a pain med girl at all either. Ibuprofen and I’m good if it’s childbirth or any other type of pain I encounter. 😂

18 years old pretty much got the surgery a week ago and man they say it’s rare seeing someone like this discharge a day earlier, going out in public a lot (some medical people love it some don’t), and moving around like this after there first major surgery. I felt your pain and it’s only been a week. I’m a Athlete myself and it’s hard. Hey need to look at it’s going to better my future no more pain but a long road to recovery. It’s surprising to see they had you using crutches they have me using a walker.

I had this surgery October 23rd 2020 i quit crutches December 4th 2020 I feel you 100% on everything except I was sick because of the pain killers I begged them to quit giving me. Thank you for making this video God is so good and has helped me through all this as well! I wouldn't have asked for the help I needed if I didn't have my 5 year old that I couldn't take care of myself.

Thanks! I'll have surgery in a few weeks and I'm very scared about muscle atrophy, what did you do in order to preserve the muscles on your legs? Also, whats the name of the ice stuff around your leg? game ready?

I'm expected to have this exact surgery this December. I was told I would only be in the hospital for a week. How long were you there for? I'm a little concerned that that might be too short
