i love driving stick, but i wont deny that my favorite style of transmission for ridiculous horsepower is a sequential trans with a clutch pedal, i prefer a stick operated sequential over paddles but either way the results are insane. one thing to note in a sequential with a clutch, you only use the clutch to shift in and out of neutral and to get the vehicle moving so its really no a hindrance to going fast but it adds the thrill of trying to get a perfect launch.

My friend was a street racer back when the two of us were in high school just before the pandemic. He remembers this one Mustang that he could hear from a good distance away, maybe like in the range of a mile or two, coming to a race/meet. He would show up, go ham in races, and then dip. The craziest thing for my friend was that no one would ever notice him slipping away afterwards, the car would just be gone, despite the noise it had made earlier. I've since been inspired by that and I hope to eventually do the same using a cutout for my crappy SN95 when I've swapped the engine and all. I'll admit at first I misunderstood the purpose of the vid, I thought it was the most intimidating car mod to do to your own car. My first thought was instantly "The first mod" because I just added a rear strut bar to my little hatch and it was so nerve wracking to cut into her trim for the first time. Possible vid idea I guess

This video makes me appreciate my childhood. My father had junk yard 70 Challenger with a 340 bored and stroked to a 418 at 13:1 compression running idk what octain fuel but it was from VP. He'd take me to car meets, swap meets, drag strips, and all the cars he'd show me had all these items. He'd ignore the ricers that I thought looked badass and he'd go talk to the owners of other cars like his with bondo patches, fiberglass fenders, and scratched up plexiglass windows. If I may, my trip down memory lane make me realize there's one item missing from this list, roll cages. A car with even just a basic cage wrapping around the front seats is enough to get my attention. Maybe it was on the list and I missed it, if so I apologize.

Won't lie, since I've 2ZZ swapped my MR2, I've also been quite the fan of cars without exhaust noise. I say that moreso meaning you don't hear much at the stop light, but when the pedal goes does it SCREAMS! It's something special when a Mustang gives me a rev at the red light, then straight drop em when that valve lift kicks in at 6200rpm and it goes from sounding like a grocery getter to a damn F1 car.

@Infatuateed _ well, it’s not in my area, since all I’ve ever seen are some Hawkeye Imprezas with spray painted black wheels, but they are a common occurrence. Most of the time when people have a big menacing intercooler it’s hidden behind mesh or whatever.

@@speedyboi349 It’s depressing... sometimes some real dedicated ricers make that shit out of cardboard, paint, and pvc pipes.

You gotta understand there’s different types of styles. Just cause a car is low with camber with 19s doesn’t make it “clout chasing” or “wanting to look fast” it’s called a show build.

The moment when you see a kinda crappy car pull up at the junktion but then hear the THUNK of that guy putting it into first with his sequential transmission is a real "Oh shit!" moment.

I feel like it’s the opposite for electric cars, where loud EVs are more intimidating. Some examples are the McMurtry Spiérling (even without the fan system) or the Audi Hoonitron. Both are electric, but the motors make loud sounds while driving

I agreed with most of this list but nowadays people build their car for different reasons. I’ve seen some nice looking cars that are completely stock in the engine bay and I appreciate that. Building a car is a form of art and there is no right or wrong way imo

Also, another reason we put smaller slicks on the back is it can make the rear gear be lower, like how bigger back tires can make it higher

Drag slicks and Drag Radials are two different items. Beadl oaks are to keep a tire attached outside of internal air pressure, allowing for lower pressure for more traction.
