There are also things that show you like Gobleki Tepe and surrounding monuments that are carbon dated to be from earliest to oldest 7/8 thousand years to 11-12 thousand years. Archaeologists think it was more of a settlement than a place of worship based on the sheer size of it all. But animals being carved into pillars, pillars that are perfectly placed with mathematics and astrology. They had intimate knowledge of the constellations. These aren't done by hunter gatherers, they are done by civilised people. In order to learn maths, astrology, engineering and logistics you first need to have a steady food source. Lol, Nope. They went extinct due to several factors including the disappearance of large prey species in their habitats, climatic upheaval, and human activities. If the African continent had suffered the same catastrophic loss of Megafauna as other continents during the Late Pleistocene extinction, African lions would have gone extinct long ago. Take Madagascar for example, the larger lemurs and elephant birds went extinct due to human overhunting, and the big carnivores (Giant Fossa and the Voay went extinct immediately after) Lions and Tigers are too big and powerful and not as easily adaptable as leopards. They would die out if big prey became absent.

The greatest band of Lion brothers that ever existed are the Mapogo brothers. Legendary 6 Male Lions from the South African region, their reign was from 2005 through 2012. They lived a life of war and survival for years, they conquered a massive area never before seen. Killing many rivals along the way and taking control of nearly a dozen prides of Females. These guys are truly Legendary.

@vladiator81207 ай бұрын
@GO-wb1gf Quite the contrary, they were efficient sires. They lost 5 Sub Adult sons from the Sand River pride due to getting shot by the warden's rifles. The lost another separate batch of cubs when the Mother died. Then you have a whole other batch of cubs from a different pride that died because of the heavy floods within the Sabi Sands. Then, when one of the brothers returned to the Western side of their territory ended up killing some cubs due to him not recognizing them from being away for 2 years. He would kill the cubs when the other Mapogos weren't around. These incidents are out of their control. I would say they had terrible luck realistically. All in all 9 of their offspring made it to adulthood, 2 prides of Females directly from 7 of their daughters are thriving today.

Modern lions (africa and india), cave lions and american lions are three different lines of evolution, they are three different species. So some scientists think that the american lion maybe was not a lion, instead it was nearly related to the jaguar or an ancestor of the jaguar.
@indyreno293310 ай бұрын
The cave lion was also more closely related to the tiger and snow leopard.
@Jenvlogs4049 ай бұрын
The lions in India are related to cave lions and different from the ones in Africa.
@indyreno29339 ай бұрын
@Jenvlogs404, nope, the indian lion is a subspecies of lion, the cave lion is not a lion and is therefore a separate species that is only distantly related to the lion, the cave lion belongs to the genus Uncia along with the tiger and ounce, while the lion belongs to the genus Panthera, where the leopard is one of its two extant members.
@randomvideos84779 ай бұрын
@@Jenvlogs404 the indian lion is the ancestor of the the lion in north and west africa or more closely related to this lions than the lions in east africa. The lions in west africa and india are another line of evolution than the lions in east africa but they are all part of the modern lions.

American lions weren't actually lions just like how sabertooth tigers weren't tigers. Mosbach lions are actually the largest lions subspecies that have ever walked the earth and it rivaled the American lion and sabertooth cats in size and strength. Natodomeri lions should have been on the list too because they were the 2nd largest lion subspecies after the mosbach lion.

This recent study(link below) shows they were indeed lions and were close relatives to Cave Lions. Martin, L. D.; Harington, C. R.; Burns, J. A.; Cooper, A. (2009). "Phylogeography of lions (Panthera leo ssp.) reveals three distinct taxa and a late Pleistocene reduction in genetic diversity"

It’s so crazy to hear how some of these lions look that is makes me feel like they’re not real, but then part of me imagines in say 1000 years, geckos might be extinct and people will never believe something like that existed. Kinda interesting and sad

Enough with the Math teacher monotone speaking, take some story teller lessons man. This is a great exciting subject, sound like your enthusiastic about it.

Unmatched by any other cat? Hmm, seems you forgot the tiger which is the true king. It’s bigger, has more muscles, longer teeth, longer claws, ability to fight standing, much higher agility and movement like side jump.
