Abroad in Japan I usually order mackerel sushi when I go out for sushi, but mind you, I don't live in Japan so it's not nearly as quality as that looks. That being said, I would probably try the ramen, because come on... butter and curry in a delicious pork ramen? I have to. But it does look a bit like obesity in a bowl.

Wow. I'm time traveling and watching several videos from different periods of the channel's history for the first time and it's neat to see the changes. Seeing that giant market made me think; more than going out to eat in Japan, I would probably buy some quality ingredients and just learn to cook an array of dishes while I'm there, since I love to cook anyway. That way, when I go home, I can eat most of them again, within reason (because I don't live next to the sea, so a variety of fresh fish is hard to come by). Anyway, thanks for introducing us to more delicious looking Japanese food. Now I'm going to go eat some cereal, I guess...

Hi! Just came from your TED video and subscribed to this channel right away! What "nokke" actually means here is "putting-on-top" coming from the verb "nokke-ru", which is the casual version of "nose-ru" meaning "to put on top". So you can nokke-ru whatever you like on top of the rice bowl, just as you perfectly explained! I love your positive attitude towards "the cultural differences" in your vlogs, and the contents seem to be quite useful even for the native Japanese viewers like me!
