That's actually incorrect, in the US we spend less money to get more portions, Japan spends 13.5 of their income on food while the US spends 6.5, but yes our food is typically lower quality and more calories.

Other suggestions for potential videos: Shiretoko onsen Daisetsuzan National Park (when you hike the top of the mountain, it's completely flat, so you can keep walking across all of them.) Okay but chocolate bananas are so underrated. I'm sorry you got the pink one, the regular (brown) chocolate banana, nevertheless, was the highlight of my first trip in Japan 4 years ago. Got in in Kyoto during gion matsuri, feels bizarre looking back at that day and the crowd in the current situation (social distancing and all).
