6 Nigerian Soldiers Killed in an Attack on Niger, Benin Oil Pipeline | Firstpost Africa
Unidentified assailants in Niger attacked soldiers guarding a major Niger-Benin oil pipeline. The attack in southwestern Niger resulted in the death of six soldiers. No group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack. However, groups linked to Al-Qaeda and the Islamic State operate in the area. The Niger-Benin pipeline is at the centre of a row between the two nations. The nearly 2000-km pipeline runs from the oilfields in Niger to Benin's Port of Seme. However, the worsening ties between the two nations since Niger's military coup in July 2023 have turned this oil pipeline into a flashpoint.

The French troops are responsible. Not quite long ago, their troops were stationed there and now, we are getting these sad reports. French troops have been sponsoring jihad extremist in the Sahel region for more than a decade now. Now that they have been booted out of Niger, Burkina Faso, and Mali, they have now shifted to Benin Republic, their former colony to continue their niferous activities. All because of Africa's rich natural resources.
