I couldn't disagree more about high player counts. I've played a 10p game before and it's brilliant. Just in a different way. See, you're all still looking at the same rows and have the same thought of "Oh, that row that starts with 32 is perfect!" Only now, you're looking at your hand and you have a 38 and a 42, which means there's prooooobably too many people going for it already. So do you play the 38? No! You play the 42. Because you're hoping that whole row busts, another row starts, and you sneak in safely on that row. Or, there's the case where there's 3 rows with 5 cards and a row with nothing but the 10. And you confidently play the 23. Because you know that row is going to bust, then bust AGAIN, and then you slide in on the 3rd row of that round! And of course, that's all before people start picking on on that strat and the meta becomes either playing super close to the number or actually purposely getting further and further away to be one of the people who slide in safely. tl;dr: 10's still a great player count, you just have to ride the wave of randomness and try to control surf your way to victory.

The 55 is most definitely only worth seven horns. Cards divisible by 5 have 3 horns. Cards divisible by 11 have 4 horns. 55, being divisible by both 5 (3 horns) and 11 (4 horns) therefore gets both = 7 horns.

nice. Being able to see what other people played as you decide which row to take is a great aspect as well. you can steal the safe row of someone else and watch them take 6 cards in another row since their card now has to play there. Because it is a deck of numbered cards you can use ti to play "The Mind" as well if you had wanted to give it a try or wanted to mix up the game night a bit more.

6 Nimmt was the first game I got when I started working at a boardgame bar, 5 years ago. I explain it to people as Schrödinger's Card Game - Your card is always good or bad until you actually reveal it. Also, in a 10 player game, it changes quite drastically, since every card is in play, so you can actually count cards and change the pace; it gets slower and more technical but its great anyway. I totally adore this game and its great to see it here

I have not played but this appears to be very similar strategy-wise to "No Thanks!" The rules seem slightly more complex but ultimately the same basic strategies come into play: 1) predict which cards other players may have 2) force other players into picking up cards 3) predict the best time to voluntarily pick up cards, giving yourself "bad points" but hopefully fewer than others

This is a great starter game I use before my group splits to play other games or get down to a 2+ hour game. It's super easy to teach, easy to set up and put away. A huge bonus when waiting for the rest of the group to arrive you can just deal in another person once the round is over. Score be damned or just post up points and keep it going as some weird legacy game. Also I think every game needs to have a proper 80's dating profile of the designer on the box.

I've found if you're playing with 2 or 3 players you can have everyone choose two cards each round. Then resolve as normal. It sort of makes it seem like you're playing with 4-6 players, but there's also some interesting strategy that comes in when you've got two cards to choose. Do I play two in the same row? I'm more likely to take the row, but only one of my cards will earn me cards at most. Maybe one high and one low? But I might end up taking TWO rows of cards!
