I’d honestly love to see something like that for Force users post-TROS /Exogol. Rey or her successors could have other rival or differing factions that practice Jedi doctrine in different ways. Maybe even the future Sith themselves could have their own decentralized factions that control their own regions or have different doctrines (such as Sith alchemy and “witchcraft”, versus using the Dark Side for the purpose of mainly restoring political order for Imperial Remnants).

I don’t hate the Sequels but the narrative choices they made in TFA made the narrative and galaxy at large too small for my liking. I hope that post Episode IX content goes way into the future and resets the landscape to something different.

@@HumbleAshe what I had in mind was something like Rey rebuilds Luke’s academy and tries to revive the Order that way but then these new Jedi split up at some point and we start to see factions popping up all over the galaxy- maybe something like the Christian missionaries- and they each have their own leadership structures, doctrines and jurisdictions. Anything can happen from there, which I think is the best part. Like you said, maybe even the Sith return in one form or another or maybe there’s a Cold War between the Jedi in different spheres of influence or everyone is peacefully working together and it’s all wonderful 😂

The idea of inter-warring Force factions is something very interesting that could tie into the “power struggle” the galaxy could face with the vacuum left behind after the conflict with the First/Final Order.

@@jonsoles6687 I personally disagree…I won’t call the ST perfect even as a fan. I definitely have some blips on the second and third films. But the character moments and emotional tugs of the main characters across their journeys just hit really well, especially seeing how Rey overcame her own self-doubt and troubles to overcome evil and find her own new family who would accept for. That’s all my POV anyways and I won’t go too in-depth on each and every aspect. Because doing so would take days if we start an argument on this, and I don’t want that at the moment.

Speaking of Force Users, I really hope someday we get more about the Mist-Weavers. Using the force to make glowing mists, using silk to aid them (maybe the same way dark users could empower armor in legends), and masters of force healing just sounds like amazing potential for a group that existed long before even the High Republic era.

Yes, I love those obscure force groups, they need some development in interesting histories, like individual ones, so we can know then better. If they made an Dr. Aphra show, that would be a good place for that, like some two or three chapter archs to explore this philosophies. Even Acolyte could be a good place for that.

I would love it if we see remnants of other force practitioners in the post-High Republic era, showing how the Jedi have gone from being members of the galaxy to becoming second in command of the Republic (after the Senate, Palpatine excluded since he was never supposed to be in charge). Especially with the whole abducting every force sensitive kid in the galaxy.

Dave and Pablo said at celebration some years back that the jedi temple wasn't just built on top of a sith shrine, but other sanctums belonging to other force sensitive cuts. I want to see them at some point. What wear they like?

I would love to see the Zeison Sha, the Jal Shey or Kilian Rangers to be covered or have one of these other groups to be debut in the new cannon, to make the mythos of Star Wars more interesting and refreshing. Thanks for sharing.

I think this is the part of Star Wars I'm most interested in seeing expanded more. The idea that there's more to understanding the force than just the Jedi and Sith-style doctrine, entirely unique magical or philosophical societies out there ready to be explored who who all use the force, but in entirely different ways, yet all connected. That in the eyes of these different groups, the dark side and the light side might look completely different. It's exciting. It's one of the big reasons Merrin is such a great character: she brings the idea that Nightsisters aren't just strictly dark side. We have a Light Side Necromancer in Star Wars, with genuinely good reasons for why that's possible, and that's dope.

I would love an expansion of this in what real-world belief systems inspire them. I know the Jedi are inspired by Buddhism (and Christianity?) and the Nightsisters appear to resemble Wicca. My view is a mix of various views of High Republic Jedi: it is simultaneously an ocean, a fire, a wind, and a tree; fire and ocean are both ways I view the dynamic of the light and dark sides.

I don’t think you would necessarily call it a “force group” but I was a big fan of the group of people that used essentially stone energy that Yoda learns to use in a flashback in the Star Wars comic when Marvel first took over.

Idk how I feel about all these factions… it feels too much like fantasy magic to me. I know Star Wars does take elements from fantasy, but it feels too fantastic for me. Especially the manipulation of vines and fire.

That's what the force is, fantasy magic. In a galaxy this large with the force it is inevitable that multiple groups with different ideologies pop up, in fact there have always been multiple factions of forcewielders in legends and canon, so it has been apart of Star Wars for awhile.....

Yoda manipulated the vines on Dagobah, Vader manipulated the fire in Obi-Wan series, both essentially with telekinesis. It's all the same thing, just different focuses and application because using the Force is perhaps easier on living things (plants) and using fire to scare people seems like a good way to be a scary individual. Try thinking of it less as "fantasy magic" and more artistical flair compared to the Jedi Order's or Vader's minimalistic view and overly focused on science at the time
