I don't own a GT86 or a BRZ but a guy from the biggest hungarian car magazine said that the biggest problem with the car is: "It's only usable above 5k RPM because the gear ratio is too long. It can reach up to 280 km/h but the car is too weak to achive that speed. I don't understand why did they do it but it ruins the car for me."
@Squilliam-Fancyson6 жыл бұрын
Imre Fodor I agree. It needs some forced inducted air. Super charger kits are very popular among BRZ drivers. Subaru builds strong engines, but with low power output compared to competitors

The thing has been through hell and back and has over 216,000 miles (347,618.304 km) on it but it still runs great and gets roughly 34 mpg on the highway (14.4549 kmpl). I live in Minnesota (the northern most contiguous state in the U.S.ofA. known as the American version of Canada) and it doesn't have a block heater. So it'll sit through a windy snowstorm through the night and I'll come out when it's -30 to -40°F (no need to convert, -40°F is the same as -40°C) and it'll start right up. I love the thing.

But their prices are abnormally high... The Impreza 1.5 was starting from 22.300€, making it too expensive, in comparison with the rest of the competitive cars. Only the high grade models were admirable!!! Now the Levorg (That I adore) costs 37.000, With the same price, I can buy something else... There are only 9 Levorgs taxed here, unil today...

Used to drive a '98 Legacy Outback (with 5-speed). LOVED that car (though it didn't get really great gas mileage). The AWD was like pouring down road glue when things got slippery. Once upon a time, I was into old air-cooled VWs. If I were ever to build another Bug (chopped top, lowered suspension, side-pipes with no running boards), it would probably get a 2,5L Subaru implant (and a 5-speed gearbox)...(and 4-wheel discs)...(and R&P steering)...(and a HEATER and DEFROSTER!!!). Anybody out there know how many horses and how much torque the 3,6L puts out? Another "dream build" would be one of those Porsche 550 Spyder kit cars with maybe an EZ30 and 5-speed (notice a trend here? NO automatics!). I saw the "Hoonigans" vid of the 550 with a turbo 2,5L and thought to myself..."Nice...but we could up this game a bit." The only thing I'm not wild about is the unmistakable SOUND a Subaru (or Bru, as they are known around here) makes. I think a 3,0 or 3,6 could "almost" sound like a real Porsche 911 (with the right exhaust system on it).

The EJ20 turbo with a mild tune of 270bhp with WRX turbo and STi parts didnt show signs of the failure. The FA/FB solves the ringland failure but excessive boosting will bend the con rods so be wary.

only the ej25 has head gaskets issues because it makes the most heat in the combustion chamber which coupled with excessive high boosting over long periods of time warp the gaskets which are the thinnest among the entire ej line up. any other ej motor that has head gasket issues have been overheated which can warp heads and blocks as well, the aluminum blocks/heads do not like being above 210F, that is why the thermostat is rated at 170F. My ej20 spun bearing #4 with 186k on the clock, but never got above 190F because bigger inter cooler for the win, and all the local douche bags kept saying i was gonna blow my hedgaskets :/

The first foreign car in my family ever was my 2001 Subaru Outback and needless to say it is a wonderful car. The gas is great, the all wheel drive is great for winter driving, and it’s very surprisingly simple and easy to work on mechanically. I rate my Subaru a 9 out of 10 only because the parts are slightly more expensive than American makes

Subaru engines are pretty cool. I’m not that crazy about two heads and two head gaskets. Or four cams. But I like the low center of gravity. I also am skeptical of AWD. Subaru had a bad reputation for fuel economy for a long time, and everyone thought it was the AWD system that was responsible. My '05 got 24 MPG max. With the new FA20 engine, I'm getting 30+ MPG with 260+ HP, and the BRZ, which lacks AWD, gets the same economy as the much more powerful WRX. Clearly, the AWD system isn't what was causing the economy problems. AWD is awesome when it's done right. I don't ever want to own a 2-wheeler again.

Love the FA in the wrx. Doesn’t sound quite as nice nor has as much tuning potential AS THE EJ , but still sounds great, better mpg, better reliability, and still a fun engine. The EJ is a legend but I’m excited to see the new STI FA series motor

I used to own a WRX And it was awesome. I love the aggresive design of it. But lately I didn’t understand why the designer for the WRX had gone worst. I wish this amazing car could come back with a more sportier design

Can u make ur next video about the evolution of Camry engine? And which car shares the same engine on any model from back then til now?

It would have been good to include the con's of the series and years of engines with gasket issues to be an honest review.
