My pup doesn't gulp down his food (he is a 6 pound Maltese boy - 7 months old) and he doesn't destroy the house. We let him freeroam and he is very well behaved. However he had separation anxiety, it's gotten better but last week a few nights back he barked all night cause my fiancé and I were not in the same room as him. Sometimes we want our alone time without staring in our souls lol. I was hesitant on getting a lick mat but I might try it out

Poor guy! Separation anxiety can be tough. Short stints away (like under 5 min) with a lickimat are definitely a good start!

i am getting one what do you often put on lick matts and what kibble do you feed your dog i have a doberman she is a very picky eater she wont eat anything unless its meat or bones

I put peanut butter, canned squash, canned pumpkin, yogurt, cottage cheese etc on lickimats. I do feed my dog kibble, but he is not picky! 😂 He eats Nutro. For picky eaters, you can try adding anchovie or fish oil to your dog’s kibble. Or even try adding water and heating it up a little - some dogs prefer food that’s a bit softer.

Baught a lick mat for my dog.... he can't get all the food out and I end up having to clean ut out and waist like 10% or more of his expensive wet food.... 2/10 wound not recomend that lick mat 😑

I feel you, it can definitely be annoying when there are left overs stuck in there! Luckily a rinse or a cycle in the dishwasher tends to do the trick for us!
