Zero ambition, zero risks taken , 300 sideways passes and none forward, with one the most talented midfields / attacking groups in the world , waiting for some sort of service. Southgate selects Maguire and /or Henderson playing 1966 football, with Bellingham, Foden and Maddison being wasted , and the coach doing his Euro Final against Italy routine - score after 2 minutes - then let Italy have the ball unchallenged for the next 90 , and lose on penalties. Tame , insipid , gutless with much lesser teams running England ragged , with Championship players actually given licence to play, not concerned with ‘ respectable results ‘. Screw that , go for the jugular from minute one. A completely foreign concept to Southgate. Losing finalists - my guess.
