If we honestly had a better manager I’d say we can make it to the finals no problem considering how many of the other top European teams are in a decline but Yh QF is what I’m realistically thinking we can do sadly with Southgate in charge.

2018 WC SF and 2020 Euros final loss was all because of Southgate. He knew the stakes were much higher in these parts of the competition resulting to him using the worst strategy that’s plagued England for our entire history since 66. Sit back and keep on defending. I mean we could all see it in the Euro final. We scored early and then just decided to try and defend for the rest of the game allowing a sub-par Italian team to dominate possession and retain it by us just kicking the ball right back to them. Ofc they were eventually gonna break our poor and weak defence down if we kept on allowing unnecessary constant pressure on us. It’s an embarrassing strategy and in a final no less is the worst bit. This has already proven Southgate’s limitations and I’m honestly shocked he wasn’t removed after the 2022 World Cup.

Look, I get all the banter and many English fans genuinely are annoyingly arrogant (treatment of Southgate and failure to acknowledge his achievements is an example) but for me England is a number 1 contender for the Euros. There are 3 reasons why 1. The team is complete. Kane moved to Germany and looks happier than ever. Bellingham, Foden, Rice, even Pickford all playing well. 2. Lack of good opposition. Let's face it. England and France are favorites by a mile with Portugal being third only because they trashed the easiest qualifying group imaginable. Germany are in crisis, Spain is going through transition and Croatia doesn't do well in the euros historically. Even crucial players from the french squad retired or moved to Saudi/MLS. 3. England is simply hungrier for silverware than France and in sports that means sth. I get trying to troll English fans but denying that England are favorites for the title is simply ludicrous and I'm not even English

Same old story for the last 58 years. I feel sorry for the youngsters who still don’t know any better. It’s not just a coaching thing. The premier league is the big elephant in the room and not producing players who play the football to win it. Plus it’s bloody hard to win one of these tournaments everything has to come together in 5 weeks of football. That’s harsh considering England were arguably no worse than the 2nd best team at the last World Cup. They outplayed France in the semis and would have had a fair shot against Argentina in the final. The prem is full of world class players. And the English national team is full of world class players, except for CB.
