you all do nice videos. Ive been in Mexico for 1 year during covid in Xalapa. I love this town and the scenery here. I do think Xalapa is slightly colder than Orizaba. My gf and her family are from here. Im originally north of Milwaukee and wore a light jacket maybe 5 nights.
@EatBailaTravel3 жыл бұрын
Thank you for the compliment. We have never been to Xalapa but we love coffee so we’d like to check it out soon! We came from chicago feeling tough but it took a couple of days to adjust. Now we’re good cause it’s 90 degrees everyday where we’re at. How do you like living in Mexico? What do you miss from Milwaukee?
@mattferencevich75493 жыл бұрын
@@EatBailaTravel , Outside of Family, I miss all of the festivals that take place in the summer. The last couple of years I lived in las Vegas, but its a dry heat. Lol. The people here in Xalapa are super friendly. My spanish is not good but I am slowly putting phrases together. My gf speaks and writes both. In general it the people of Mexico are more patient with people that dont speak the language than vice versa. The food has much better taste here. I do miss Wisconsin Cheese but I do find Mexico cheese to be really good. One last thing. My gf family and friends here really like Mountain dew, and American coke a cola. Both are hard to find here. I perfer the Mexican brand. They also like American chips, doritos cheetos etc. They say those chips have more flavor while the Mexican brands obviously more spicy. We will continue to watch your videos and continue to stay safe.

As someone who has gone through the process of relocation, you're taking the right notes. Can't say I would ever know what city for you to move to, but just simple thoughts as I watch this: - Understand the facts logically. Let them feed your gut in truth. Then trust your gut, especially on how much that city empowers you to be you. 🙏ing for your discernment. Enjoy the process...and each other!

You are emigrants, instead of immigrants who travel away from your country, you are moving to your country. I think it defines you better because expats live in a country which they are not citizens. Anyhow, great video and happy travels.
@pedrozatravel3 жыл бұрын
@Lucio Martínez True, didn't think of it that way. Technically they were reverse expats.

Thanks for your thoughtful responses! I think you’re both right. We belong to both, but at the same time, we stick out in both due to our cultural blend. We feel it now as we learn new slang, new foods, and learn about new ways of life. We always felt it growing up in the southwest side of Chicago where our “normal” was completely different from someone living in the north suburbs.. “ni de aquí ni de allá” neither from here nor there, but also from both.
