I have so much written down on my opponents, so much information how they play strong hands, how they play draws, how they play on the flop, turn, river, when they have a strong or weak hand. I have different strategies against different type of players.

I just started playing this game 6 weeks ago and started watching your videos 2 weeks ago and just won a tournament with 30 players and played a 1/2 game in person and walked away with $290. some people just run worse than others I guess, especially in tournaments. I very rarely win an all in when I’m deep in a tournament. Not saying it’s rigged or anything, just when it really matters, nearing the end of a tournament I always end up losing most my stack to someone jamming on me when I’ve got a decent hand. Hopefully one day I’ll win one. 😂👍

Just started playing poker again as a hobby after a few year break, and your videos have been great as a refresher. So far I've been playing the micros for a couple weeks and doing pretty decently. For me the last point of this video is my main flaw... I would probably have double the success if I could get my mental game in check. I truly am my worst enemy at the moment. Just yesterday I chased after my "losses" after getting my 100$ spin & go win "stolen" from me by two consecutive hands, destroying my profits from the weekend in the process 🤣 Well, at least I can chuckle about it today. Personally I leave when I triple up if the game is the traditional up and down roller-coaster with a table of good solid players to lock in my win and leave if I lose 2 buyins so I don't cripple my bankroll.

@wesleydiolata3467 you are very welcome. That is just one of those many hard lessons you learn over the years...once you get over 2 buy ins down it is just very hard to dig yourself out of that hole and you are very likely to lose your bankroll or severely cripple it as one buy follows another. Also important to lock up your wins because the action really dries up when you build up a huge pyramid of chips. At that point you find yourself only able to pull small pots when people miss and people are only going in with big starting hands or going deep with big hands that have you crushed like sets or straights or better. I call it chewing tree bark.

The #1 thing I see from winners is betting for light value on rivers. Granted, the ability to do this intails some of your items... hand reading, player classification, and study away from the table.

Thanks for the vid! Question: I've learned the 4/2 rule for calculating outs. Is there a rule for what betting amounts to use in and out of position? Pot sized bet? 1/2 pot? Min raise? Or is the amount used opponent dependant? Like for instance, you say in Rule 5 of this vid to double barrell on the missed turn. What amounts are you tossing his way to try to get him to fold? More against a tight player? Less? And are you calculating this by the amount of blinds you have? He has? Or is it just a general poker rule that turns and rivers should bet X amount? If you have a video already on bet sizing, I apologize! Just point me in the right direction!!! Thanks Man! Your vids kick ass! : )

Always good content Nathan, I’m halfway through your boom which is great. Before my weekly tournament I skim over your videos. Nathan any chance you could make a 10-15 minute pep talk video that touches on the basics to get us switched on. Eg. Some basic tells Some basic range info About playing position Betting/check, raises etc. That would be awesome, can have it playing in my headphones keeping me switched on, might limit my 1-3 bad errors that seem to get me each week

Frustration - Losing 👆 That got to me. Playing knowing there's next session and letting someone have their "W" has done wonders. Even just leaving when ahead or after grinding back from an early fluke you should of won, managing yourself when card dead or in bad position eventhough you see good things happening to bad players... Controlling the pot + knowing player types... So simple in theory, but a lot of players can't do it. At any level. Your stuff has helped or reaffirmed a lot of how I tend to play... but at some point a person has to manage themself. Anyway, thanks dude (BR79). I'm grinding up and just managing wins & minimizing losing sessions by leaving the game or not even playing if my brain is not right or I'm diatracted by life. 👈 that has been key for me to "level up," but as you say... one has to keep working/evolving their game. 🤜🤛

NO ONE always wins at NLH; pros say about 30-40% if there not on a losing streak. Even the great Daniel had one season where he couldn't win mostly at all, after being #1 the previous season.

Nathan makes that claim, but it's nearly impossible unless he has an algorithm and automation. 10,000,000 hands × 30-seconds (average) = 5,000,000 minutes of table time. Now let's say he's playing 4 tables simultaneously... that's still 1,250,000 minutes of table time. That's 20,833 hours of table-time. Let's say Nathan's a beast and puts in 10 hour days. Now we have 2083 days. Finally, let's say he plays 5 days a week. Now, we're at 8+ years. Conclusion, Nathan's counting algorithm auto-folds (which isn't really "playing" the hand, is it?) I cringe every time he makes that brag.

@@EricA-xd9fn Huh, well I don't know when he started but any full time worker, works 20,000 hours every ten years. Hence the classic expression "It takes 20,000 hrs to make a master". I have double that time as a glassblower. (2.5x actually) Has he been playing for 10 years full time? Also Don't most pros play around 20 hands at a time? Jonathon Little often plays 24 at a time.
