As someone who used to live in LA the last point hits hard. It's VERY hard to make friends there because everyone is all about money and they don't want to waste their time talking or hanging around you if there isn't anything to benefit from it. People will come over and talk to you acting all friendly sure but 99% of the time they are simply sizing you up and determining if you can add anything of value to them. LA is a place where despite its gorgeous scenery and countless things to see and do, it's easy to feel lonely.
@briansounalath3 жыл бұрын
Yeah that is true about LA. I think it’s more a symptom from a lot of people working in the industry. People have to admit that Hollywood and the entertainment industry can be very superficial. You can’t have it both ways. But if you don’t work in entertainment and hang out with non-industry people, you actually can easily avoid that.

Okay, but homeless people deserve to live. I can't believe people are more concerned with keeping some weird ass egotistical reputation of LA than the stigma that perpetuates homeless people as terrible. Also most were pushed out of their own home state's due to freezing weather, violence and etc. Homeless people are people regardless if they live here in LA or any other state. Plus, it is not exactly like LA residents don't fucking terrorize homeless residents anyways.
@dirtydinner24325 жыл бұрын
Devilina Gurl California is a state that promotes homelessness with the high cost of living and high taxes which is causing a growing divide between the rich and working class people of the state. I’m not saying homeless people themselves are making LA undesirable, I’m saying the conditions present in the city and state that are making homelessness increasingly prevalent are the problem
@Shittybaybe5 жыл бұрын
Not really. Capitalism is why homelessness is a problem not a state. Homeless people don't wish to be homeless nor does anyone. The only reason why there is a huge homeless population here is due to the "acceptance" of homelessness without fixing the actual issue. That rent is too high and that's not due to homelessness. It's due to gentrification and more richer people moving into the area and trying to force poor families out of the area to make the state richer and wealthier but does not actually get rid of poor families. It just makes them suffer.

Nothing quite like going to a Dodger game, seeing the city, going to Universal, walking around the Americana in Glendale, quick drive to the beach (at least to Orange County from the valley). Sure parking and rent and food are expensive (as is everything--but there are ways to get around it like taking the bus/train, living in the suburbs, cooking your own meals, etc.), homeless population is on the rise, smog and traffic are mutually inclusive. But that is typically the case in all major cities. When you can look past that, and see that the people here are just trying to survive same as you, you can really see the beauty in it (maybe not so much in the angry drivers though, lol). I'm very fortunate to have grown up here, and I think everyone should give a visit a chance at least once.

Okay here's what I have to say. I'm not saying that any of her points are incorrect, but a lot of the issues in Los Angeles are the same as issues worldwide. There are gangs everywhere, homeless people everywhere, the elite and the poor everywhere, natural disasters everywhere, etc. You cannot escape the negatives that life as to offer. So, one may say don't move to LA because of its issues, but each city has its own. Not everyone wants to move to LA to get rich and famous. Speaking for myself, I am an artist who wants to move to Los Angeles because it is a highly artist-populated city. I plan to become successful in the next couple of years, however whether or not that will happen will be solely based off of the hard work and effort that I put in. I want to be surrounded by people who are interested in the world of creativity and media. Living in the small city I do, it's hard to find people who have similar interests. My point is, if you want to move to LA, do it. If you don't, then don't. It is expensive yes, but there are ways around it. Trust me. All I do for work is brew coffee and toast bagels, but I've planned a living situation which will pay the bills with enough money to take care of myself and have extra left over. People often forget that there's living options other than apartments and houses. You can rent rooms for pretty cheap and work two jobs, if that's what you have to do. If you want something you will go after it and make it work. Don't get me wrong, it's not easy, but what's a good life without hard work?

Excellent video. As one who grew up in Los Angeles I can attest, everything you say is true. It is simply impossible to find the center of this city, and you can't find that magical place to live that will put you in reach of everything you need to do. It's simply impossible. Unless you can work from home and order everything to your doorstep, including groceries, you're gonna be on that road dealing with traffic. No fun. I had a job once where I had to leave home two hours early just to be there on time. It was only twelve miles away. And this was a minwage job...years ago! Traffic has only gotten worse, so I'm glad I can afford to work from home. But I still have to brave the traffic. Yes, we have a lot of shallow phonies here, but I live in what I call Real L.A. What I mean by that, is I deal mostly with regular people with a good head on their shoulders, not fame seekers. I have a lot of Mexican American friends and they live very normal, down to earth lives and don't pay attention to all the silliness.
