If anyone has trouble dealing with the hand spiders, set them on fire. The hands will stop attacking and start rolling around to put out the fire. I discovered this by accident as I had a fire ash of war on my weapon.

Thanks for this! I haven't gotten to them yet since I'm still bumbling around Stormveil and Limgrave (Spending more time in Bloodborne than Elden Ring at the moment). Fire damage and bleed have been my go-to damage types.

@@brookeboyd7095 I'm using the Bloodhound's Fang at my main weapon at the moment, though I wouldn't say no to some katanas or similar with bleed as well. I've got some slower/heavier weapons that deal bleed, but they're too slow for my tastes. I keep the blood grease stuff stocked up as well. It's definitely saved my skin. That along with the spirit summons. The erdtree watchdog in the Impaler's Catacombs kept wrecking me because it decided to bring a bunch of those stunlocking stone imps to the fight. I finally killed it when I got the skeleton militiamen from that one boat boss up in those water ruins. Aurelia the jellyfish is my main for boss fights usually and anything slow and big. The wolves are good for groups of humanoids. Haven't tried the imp summons I got from the erdtree fight.

@@SolaScientia They take immense tick damage from setting them on fire, but if you hit them at any point afterwards, then the rolling animation stops and so does the damage they take. This effect also only happens once so time it wisely.

I remember seeing someone talk about how those icons of various enemies could very well be a remnant of an older version of the summoning ashes system, where you could basically steal dream essence from sleeping enemies and then have them as summons, with icons for every kind of enemy.

PVP is why I play all these games offline, lol. It's annoying enough when NPCs invade unexpectedly. I don't want to deal with real life randos also invading and killing me. Ellen's frustration when someone invaded her game when she was walking with Gael in the Cathedral of the Deep was deeply felt. I would like to see them do something with the coliseums or with the dream collecting. A bestiary would be cool as well.

I will say Elden Ring does it differently. You can only be invaded if you've used a certain item that allows you to summon other players for co-op, or you choose to activate a duel summon sign. Otherwise you're safe from invasions!

The good news is that other players can only invade when you have player cooperators summoned, so in effect it's not a problem at all.

Playing offline is missing all the messages and more importantly for new players, bloodstains. Also the exception being ds2, all the other ones require an item to be used. Hardly an ever prevailing issue.

All very good points about playing online. That said, I play on my PS5 and have zero reason for a PS+ account since none of the other games I play have an online multiplayer part. It'd just be a waste of money for me. I don't mind missing on messages since many of them are trolling messages anyway. Same for bloodstains and player ghosts. If I get stuck some place or need some help I'll just look it up to see what to do or where to go. When I watched Luke play Bloodborne, I would jump occasionally at the player ghosts and I don't need more reasons to get startled in these games, lol.

For those having trouble with the mimic tear fight, just unequip all your gear and weapons before it forms then require them quickly. It will have no weapons or armour and will try to punch

I did this in NG+ for the lolz and then me and my mimic tear just ripped through the poor thing while it was trying to punch me. I think I'll have a punching match with it next time.

Of these 6, I think the one I would want over them all is coliseum content, assuming it would be used for PvP. A side questline or two would be cool, but the PvP community will be around much longer than people exhausting PvE content.

I hope the Coliseums are actually boss rush arenas. Maybe you gotta defeat the giant jar in front of the one in Caelid and you unlock access to them. That way you can fight all the bosses in that area right there.

Zullie did a video making it move since it shares animations with other jars and it caused huge lag. Also, it had no dedicated hitboxes.

@@CodaBlairLucarioEmperor It is technically possible to kill the great jar. Or at least it used to be, not sure if it got changed. I was able to hit it and make it stagger and stand up. I then proceeded to push it off the cliff but nothing happened and it just respawns when you reset.

Another piece of cut content involves giant burning stone heads that were in the overworld for some time. They were rendered invisible during the network test from what I remember, but two were found after some hacking with one in a lake and another attached to a cliff. Why they were cut is unknown as they look mostly like decorative objects unless they were featured in a part of the lore that was cut.

It feels like it would be a waste of space in the overworld to just have them sit there all dead cause it's clear this was to be a big thing in the game. Maybe it needed more testing before the public version was released and maybe multiplayer would be a thing and they need more beta testing to determine how difficult it should be.

I like the idea of the mimic tear becoming self aware. If we were to fight it though is a different story. I think it would be better that they left it in game but if you win the duel, it admits defeat and becomes your shadow. Something like that I think. Maybe it could have some dialogue whenever you summon it.

It’s easy to assume that FromSoft would’ve delayed the game again if allowed but Bandai Namco put a fuck ton of money into advertising and hype was at max and they didn’t want to lose that to another delay. At least we’ll most definitely get more content added to the game later (either with a DLC/DLCs or a patch/patches)

The dream brew part reminds me of how you gave alcohol in sekiro and the characters give you more details about themselves from what I have seen of it. A few things to also mention is that cut dialogue suggests it would also inflict madness on the drinker to some extent as seen with the red merchant at the beginning of the game as he would go to sleep and have nightmares based on the cut dialogue. Also, it was pointed out it was similar in concept to the dream nail in hollow knight as like in that game it would also lead to a dream boss to fight which makes me wonder if it inspired it.

Not too sure on your suggestion. The merchants are all related to the flame of frenzy, think you can find in the flavor text of the set underneath capital. So I think it just would have given us the opportunity to learn earlier in the game of this connection.

I think specifically because it was ladies underwear that it was a problem as that has more disturbing connotations in Japan. I think it was the right choice because most troll players will make a bigger deal out of underwear in the game if they know it belonged to a woman. Gold mask outfit more appeals to the other community of naked level 1 sunbros.

Let's be honest here, Elden Ring isn't finished. And I don't mean the fact that we'll obviously get some dlc down the road, I mean they are actively adding in npcs and finishing questlines right NOW. Such as the recent patch where they added more of Patches's quest. Or some time before that, where they added the little jar dude in the jar village. So I'm sure some of these will be coming to light at some point.

I know of a way to cheese/exploit the mimic tear: take your armor and weapons off before you go in and put it back on once the boss fight starts. As of right now that makes it so the fake you is unarmed and defenseless
