Gavlan Wheel, Gavlan Deal! - I'd argue the 'Scorpion Stinger' dagger is also a nod to 'Manscorpion Tark' from Dark Souls 2, who himself is a nod to the legendary 'Iron Tarkus' from Dark Souls. - Would we agree the 'Grafted Blade Greatsword' is an homage to the Iron Throne from Game of Thrones? - Not sure if we should count the 'Black Bow' as well, since it has been in every Dark Souls game so far, and is always linked back to 'Pharis' the NPC you get it from. Dark Souls 2 has my favourite item description regarding this bow. - Alexander's whole thing is Siegmeyer/Siegward. On the topic of Castle Morne, I think the whole level's a reference specifically to The Rains of Castamere from asoiaf (not gonna talk about the grafted greatsword since that's only tangentially related). The area boss is is a lion with "a coat of red", House Reyne's symbol; the lore behind the castle suggests subservience to the Golden lineage as a result of having been conquered by a powerful ancestor of it, in this case, Horah Loux, whose regent would go on to become a spirit lion. Irina's word choice parallels the language of the lyrics; "they haven't spared a soul" vs "not a soul to hear". The greater area's literally a rainy landscape called the "Weeping" Peninsula, after all.

There are 5 things in Elden Ring , that are from Sekiro : 1- Ashe of War Bloody Slash. ( Is Sekiro's Notorious Mortal Draw move from his Fushigiri Mortal Blade Art move ). 2- Ashe of War Raptor of the Mists. ( Sekiro's Prosthetic move Mist Raven Tool ). 3- Ashe of War Flame Strike. ( Is Sekiro's Legendary Living Weapon Prosthetic Art move , where he launches Flame Vent and imbues his Sword with Flame ). 4- Impaling Thrust Ashe of War. ( Is Sekiro's Shadow Rush move from the Shinobi Text Final Art ). 5- Lastly , the Meteorite Blade Katana in Elden Ring has the R2 Double Ichimonji. ( Which is from Sekiro's Ashina Arts Move ). There's also the Crouch Stealth mechanic , but thats not just tied to Sekiro and there's Lure in Elden Ring which is like Ceramic Shards or Fistful of Ashe from Sekiro... However , those Ashes of War are relatively Easter Eggs from Sekiro actually.... Enjoy 💯

Golden commentary in this video that earns the scriptwriter an applause from me. (Edit: Do add on, if you wish) 0:45 Respecting commitment to surrendering 1:09 Screaming over background music, and not because it is good. It is good. But that's not why there's screaming. 11:00 did it move??

I do have an interesting idea for list stemming from the recent Stanley Parable Expansion. That idea being, times they updated a joke for the remake. See in the Stanley Parable where the narrator gets sick of your BS and decides to start loading up other games. In the original release he boots up Minecraft and Half-life but in the expansion he brings up more recent indie hits FireWatch and Rocket League. I was wondering if there are any other instances of the devs changing or updating a joke to be more relevant to the time it was re-released?

I like how the merchants repeat the song and seem slightly uncertain how to play it. It's like they heard it once, perhaps in a dream, and are trying to keep it in their memory or remember it at all. It makes me wonder if 'madness' is more than simply a connecting theme between the games.

A few other callbacks I've noticed: Leyndell Sewers have sections of pipes with sudden drops that lead to basilisks, just like in The Depths - sewers in DS1. Letndell sewers even have that same rat hiding in a crate that jumpscares you, just like in The Depths. Entering Castle Sol, you are greeted with a guardian lion. Fight it for a bit, and when it's half health - a second lion appears. This is exactly how Lud & Zallen boss fight in DS2 goes, which are also two lions found in a snowy area

One that made me laugh out loud: in the Subterranean Shunning Grounds beneath Leyndell. If you go left from the Underground Roadside Site of Grace, past the Omens, and drop down through the open grate into the sewers, you'll find a bunch of rats. As you're walking down the pipe, a group of rats approaches, and as you get close, another one smashes out of a wooden crate off to the left. Thing is, the same thing happens in another Soulsborne sewer: the Depths, in Dark Souls 1. To me, it read as a clear reference in an area that seemed to serve a similar thematic purpose (and was just as annoying)

Interesting that the Merchants in ER play a variation of Gerhman's theme, a theme in a video game where eldritch horror and madness are major themes, because the Lord of Madness questline basically tells you the merchants' culture/ethnicity/nation spawned the Frenzied Flame as a way to soothe themselves during the extermination of their people

For anyone having trouble with the Silver Tear blobs; they may not be weak to fire, but I’ve found that they seem incredibly weak to lightning damage. Even if it hits their shields, it does an appreciable chunk of damage. I’m of the opinion that this is because they’re made of silver, one of the more conductive metals we have.

Funny thing about that particular cookbook? It's probably the ONLY one everyone will use as it gives you the Uplifting Aromatic recipe, it's a shielding perfume that acts as an AoE Opaline Bubbletear, and you can carry as many as you can craft and store.

The Icon shield, I would argue is actually quite useful. Not in a straight on fight, but when combined with blessed dew talisman. 4hp per second regen is decent enough to save up on your healing items and negate chip damage you'll take during fights with trash mobs and will reliably regenerate you during travel. With this level of regen, it can be reliably used for blocking weaker enemies, as well, so there is that. The point is - saving consumables - because icon shield and blessed dew talisman are the only two items that regenerate hp and do not require you to fight, and therefore, take risks. Now, because some of the consumables recharge upon defeating certain enemies or groups, it is not strictly essential, but I personally find it very convenient.

No iteration of the Moonlight Greatsword can beat the HMS from Bloodborne, imo. It has some of the best animations in the series, glows beautifully, packs a ridiculous punch, and has some of the best lore surrounding the weapon we’ve seen. The HMS is easily my favorite weapon in any Soulsborne game by a mile, which is fitting since Bloodborne is also my favorite game in the series
