Oh my, my story is so recent.. I'm a very cuddly person and I am the friend always giving hugs to those who need or want it. I became friends with someone a few months ago and they asked me on a date. We had fun and continued to progress in our relationship. I slowly started noticing these signs; especially lingering looks and the physical contact. Him looking at me for extended periods of time was a little off putting personally, but knowing him, I know that wasn't his intent. The physical contact tho was advancing more and more. It may start one evening with a nudge or leaning on the shoulder and end up with me against him while he had his arm around me with his other hand holding mine. He would adjust trying to pull me in tighter when we were already in a comfortable position. When this was becoming more and more frequent, I started geting uncomfortable. I do like this guy but only as a friend. I don't really see a romantic future with him and I know that upsets him because I had to drop that bomb on him recently. I told him multiple times that I don't see him romantically, or as more than a friend, but he didn't seem to understand. Two days before this video was released, I told him straight up about that. I could not have been clearer and I did feel bad. I just couldn't let him make me uncomfortable and me sit in silence (after years I know that my own comfort is important). He was upset, I could tell, but he was very mature about it. I didn't want to hurt him, but I didn't want to lead him on. It was difficult to tell him, but I am glad I did.

@psych2go I think this video could be very helpful and I wish I had someone to teach me things like this when I was younger. I've learned that one of the biggest things I've done to disappoint women was to doubt myself or hold back from what I really wanted, despite seeing clear signs of interest. There were a lot of times I turned away from opportunities only to find out later that someone special to me thought I was special to them.
