There’s no shame in living with parents as long as you’re contributing to the household in some way.

I get it, basically a man shouldn't be weak. But this video is based off of needing female validation. Requiring validation is weak.
@SP-zu6jp4 жыл бұрын
But why does the validation has to come from a woman? I think a father is the person who would love to see how his son becomes a mature man. He is more likely going to notice it before any woman has. If you respect yourself and mature then people (men and women) would respect you. Do it for yourself and not to please a woman because it is truly for your own benefit. Now that mature men are more attractive in general than immature men is just a consequence, a huge plus. But do it for yourself because you value yourself.

Don't you want to leave a legacy to this world though? Don't you want to raise a man of your own (or woman)? Having no motivation because you're depressed or deeply depressed and having no motivation because you're a bum are two very different things. It's easy to label someone but hard to truly understand everything they're going through and have endured. Everything else you stated is accurate though. Ultimately if you let someone else's words define who and what you are. You might be a manchild.

@Doctor Shoes The simple answer is the ratings thing is subjective. What you percieve as a 9 out of 10 others probably percieve as a 4 out of 10. But its the interenet so who knows and who cares... Anyway I think what you are most likely referring to is when you are under 20 or so there are times someone at a party might make a whole bunch of bad jokes at rapid-fire and it can give the illusion of dominance. Most women see right through it and run from that guy however if its done publically at a party or nightclub then a lot more women will notice you as opposed to the guy that says nothing and doesn't interact with anyone. Both approaches are foolish but the one cracking bad jokes at least has people taking notice of him so hes in with a chance (though normally with the girls no one else really wants since its not the jokes that those girls enjoy as much as the acknowledgement the person making the jokes is giving them). That is why most girls who go for the lame joke maker are usually very low status and undesirable to other males.

To be fair he does have a medical condition, but really it seems like he's selective with what physical activities and correspondence, paperwork, etc. he can and can't do. Hint hint: he only does things he wants to do and pushes the rest of the boring responsibilities to the last minute or has someone else take care of it. I finally left him yesterday even though I really loved him. I met him when we were both 25 and now I'm almost 29 and not a thing has changed. Sometimes I wonder whether I enabled it, but I can't blame myself for his unwillingness to grow up. Let's hope I have the strength and bravery to go through with this break as I have broken up with him before and gone back after being convinced by meaningless promises and because he is actually a really nice guy. Pray for me yall.

Being an adult is taking responsibility for yourself. I don't care about the manchild that stays single. The married man child is my problem. When you become a husband or a father, you need to take responsibility.

I grew up with rich friends which is one of the trait you can find in "Manchild". They acts like grown men, successful, drives expensive cars, top tier credit cards, have a business of his own, but all that are from his dad to give them some kind of "status". Behind all that is just an insecure man who uses his dad's card for living, never really accomplished anything, even for a girl, they just have to "pay" just enough to get her attentions. At 30s, they still brag about how big their house is, how many car they owned, never got any real goals, never pay any bills, if so, it's still their parent's money. it's really annoying when you have to keep them around.

My life completely flipped upside down when my Mom passed away 2 years ago. I left a very good job (did not enjoy but paid well & good benefits) broke up with a toxic girlfriend who I had played house with for 3 years, got evicted & into some significant debt, ditched the flashy car for an economy model, went back to community college and moved back in with my father. Over the past two years I have been working on rebuilding myself inside & out and have been struggling heavily with the sense of being a "man child" who lives at home at the age of 27 i feel like im 18 again and not in a good way. Thank you for sharing this video & showing me that I am not a manchild but someone who took the necessary steps towards correcting my life and aiming towards a better future.

You're not a manchild. You're working towards something and you have worked hard in the past. Usually man children have never experienced adulting because their enabling family members allow them to do nothing. They have never had to be responsible for themselves or work hard to earn anything.

DivinexDragoonxRising ~ while I agree with the concept, I don’t think it should be his first. The woman should be first and a facet of that picture is protecting her. I’d put loving her before protection, though both are of GREAT importance. However, what I meant is the more a man one is, the more he can rationalize rather than resort to violence. I love a good fight but that should not be a priority not even something that comes upon the regular. At 52, I’ve only had two instances where I actually NEEDED to fight. I could have had loads more.
@izzojoseph24 жыл бұрын
DivinexDragoonxRising ~ if that’s where you live, yes, you are correct, protection over all. However, that lifestyle describes about 10% of the earth’s population. In fact, I’d say provision, based on what you’ve described, is the most desired trait. Provision, then protection. And yes, I’ve had a moderate lifestyle but I have no intention of visiting places like Somalia, Ivory Coast, small factions of India or Venezuela. So, I think I’m good.

DivinexDragoonxRising ~ aaahhhhahahaha! Then martial abilities takes a back burner. Look at all the dad bods. I’ll blame my misunderstanding on meningitis, that shit fucked me up for reals.

I'm 29 and I'm currently living with my parents but not by choice. I was living with my roommates and we moved to a house we rented and found out too late that there were issues with plumbing and the landlord refused to fixed the plumbing. We withheld rent until he did but he just got mad. Final straw was when we tried washing clothes and the toilets began to flood as a result and we had to do an emergency move out and move back in with our parents, temporarily.

I never held the car door open and paid for the entire night to be ghosted right after by some solipsistic harpy. I didn’t move out right after high school despite the lack of career and resources. 1) it's always good to like your job no matter what others say 2) no one can tell you how to live your life or where to live; if you find it easier to stay at home, then do so. 3) no one is entitled to unfair outside judgments of your living situation just because they dont like how you live and you certainly don't have to listen to them. But 4) holding a door for a woman isn't something you have to do either....and it doesn't mean the person you do it for will appreciate it. You can either a) do that stuff for it's own sake b) not care to do it and not do that stuff. But u really cant blame people for taking a free meal cause most people you don't know are just out for themselves. it's not gendered behavior it's just shitty human nature.

I fucked things during the last 5 years, especially in the last 3. I was naive and a nonchalant, idealistic person and I always had an easy life. Moreover, I wasn’t that self-esteemed kid/person, I always were obedient towards everyone, never tried to be asshole with anyone, I always were looking for the apperception of others, which was a main motivation for me. Because of these, I did not learn those needed life lessons, since I was always in my comfort zone, and I had low self confidence. I started a company with my friend with two main contractors and we did it for 1,5 years, but we were scammed and I felt ashamed, since I kept it as a secret, and later revealed it to my family, and they warned me. Later on, I had to ask for financial support. This broke me, since this was one of those few times, I actually felt that I was making my decisions, worked my ass hard and suffered torture from our psychopath partners. I felt cheated, I felt I lost my ground and since than I became a bitter person, I hate and loath myself, for being lazy, not following my original goals did not learned new languages besides English and by the time I became 29, I thought I fucked up my life. Because I became a toxic walking negativity, my then and first long term girlfriend left me after 4 years, since I was not man enough and she was always a dominant person and I never stood up when it was necessary. For more than 2 years, I’m depression, and since than I feel like a cynical, pessimistic, disappointed bitter old man with some man-child features and I’m freakin’ lonely. I know I should do something but I do not believe myself, I hate myself and I cannot forgive all the things I did wrong in the last 15 years. I don’t know how can go further on the road. I’m ashamed but I feel numb and scared, to get wounded again, but the pain is getting worse and worse...
