It took me a while to accept that I’m actually pretty intelligent. I tend to be very self critical and put myself below others. It wasn’t until i started looking back on a lot of interactions I’ve have in the past where people kept calling me “wise beyond my years” and “old soul”, etc. that i realized my way of speaking, thinking, mannerisms, actions, and reactions were not that of my age at the time. I don’t mean to toot myself up, but it also took my a while to understand that my grades didn’t reflect my intelligence. And when i think about it, many people tried to reassure me of that. Many think you have to excel in everything to be intelligent, but contrary to popular belief, one may just have a specific area where they excel (not limited to common core) and that is intelligence in and of itself. Go where your heart takes you and you’ll see that the growth never stops. Such powerful individuals, the humankind. (This is also a note to myself as I’m still learning too)

I got 4 out of the 6 traits, but an important reminder that there’s different types of intelligence and that everyone is gifted in their own ways. It’s not always about the brains, but what you believe in and your heart. Of course, you need to balance your intellectual side and your emotional intelligence side as too much emotional intelligence makes you super sensitive, gullible, and might make foolish choices but having too much intellectual side makes you cold, apathetic, and you won’t get to enjoy things that you love or desire. Balance between your mind and your heart is vital to have a fulfilling life, and DON’T allow grades to define you as you are a human and it’s normal to make mistakes! Bless you all!❤️

Actually, I can relate to you. If it’s something that interests me or I find something enjoyable to learn like the environment, I excel it, but if it’s something I don’t enjoy, I don’t well as much. I love learning new things and gaining knowledge on something that fascinates me. I wish school allows students to learn something they would find enjoyable or help them get to their dream career. Like in Netherlands, many students get to do fun projects and learn things that most average students don’t. I graduated like nearly 3 years ago, and let me tell you, most things that I learnt there were useless or not enjoyable. However, that shouldn’t stop us from learning new things, especially something enjoyable. I hope you understand as you’re not alone when it comes to learning certain things. Bless you.❤️

Many people had told me that I was intelligent, but I could not agree with their assessments, since their conclusions had been made on the basis of my vocabulary, spelling, and grammar. Well, perhaps language skills are an indication of intelligence to some extent, but I don't think it is very significant. A broad vocabulary and complex sentence structure does not enhance the quality of an idea, albeit it could be used as a tool for rhetoric-for example how sophists use magniloquence to persuade their audience to subscribe to their ideas. However I do not concentrate on my intelligence inordinately anymore, which is good, because that has benefited me psychologically (▰˘◡˘▰)

For example a creative person might think about what to draw/paint while athletic people might be thinking about a new healthy routine. A scientist might have a more analytical mind set to determine their tasks, a historian might throw themselves into history books and travel the country to learn more. Each person is smart but its based round their aspirations and what they want to do in life. I want to a writer, and I read poetry books and other books to help. I hate being self-aware. I can reflect back on my actions and see where my brain mess up do to being neurodivergent. I try to analyze these patterns to help me but it only goes so far. After all I'm not a mind-reader. Being in this era where most information is at your fingertips makes you realize the world's troubles more and more to just realize you'll probably never be able to do anything about it and it'll only get worse as they ignore it. We need unity but we are selfish creatures worried about our own gains instead of society as a whole.

I hate how I experienced all of these and still doubt I'm smart and still think I'm average
