From a driver's point of view who was struggling to understand frequent oil top ups needed and blue smoke when struck in the traffic and having some oil smell inside the cabin on some days and no visible oil leaks, some days car driving fine and on the days feeling a bit sluggish - this video is one of the greatest on KZbin. If I was a king I would be so happy to make this guy the 😊general of my army😂

I got my car checked for a coolant leak but they said that i also needed my vlv seals replaced. Based on the information you provided that's the case. Thanks 👍🏾

I used AT-205 reseal and it has slowed down oil consumption considerably on bmw n63 motor with leaking valve seals.

How is that working today? How often do you add the AT205? This product should rejuvenate the seals back to near original. Your thoughts…! Please.

@@alfenner3309 I’ve only used 2 bottles. First time I put in 1.5 bottles and about 800 miles later when it needed a quart of oil added, I put the rest of the second bottle. I used to burn a quart every 400 miles and now it’s about 800 miles.

I rebuilt my Honda Civic motor 10,000 mi ago and it has been consuming oil. There's a black sheen on my bumper but I have never witnessed smoke driving around starting up or anything. I live in a warmer climate so I wouldn't expect to. I was questioning myself if I had maybe overbored the piston cylinders or put in improper rings but one thing that my machinist said is the valve seals may not have been put in all the way. That part I didn't do. Now I'm waiting for The Machinist to call me back to see if it was faulty valve seals. I will follow up. As an aside the only symptom I had was a quart of oil every 500 miles. No misfire, no smoke. A light coating of darkness on my bumper. Again I did rebuild the motor, the bottom end and The Machinist did the top end.

@@MechanicBase As it turns out, compression is good and solid across all cylinders, so I am assuming that the valve seals are good and some other problem--perhaps crankcase ventilation issues--is causing the oil consumption problems I am seeing.

@palainaflorin8317 What's your oil consumption like? These engines are known to burn oil because of bad valve seals. Symptoms are white/blue (or white/gray) smoke, most notable when you accelerate after it's been idling for a minute or two.

@MechanicBase Thank you for answer! I don't know, just i buy the car, i take out nearly 3l after change the oil! Oil smell like petrol! Could be a bad PVC valve or egr, spark plugs? Tester give me 3 errors like DeNOX catalytic converter , characteristic field thermostat and vanos intlet, And the last one the engine don't have normal power and high petrol consumption ,no lights on dash! Thank you very much!

I have the impression that if the engine burns a lot of oil then a compression test should be done and if it is ok then something else is the culprit and they don't think that it could be bad oil rings. The engine on my car has overheated once so I think there is a high chance that one or more oil rings could be damaged because of that.

I like to know the following:1 spark plug 1&3 are whet Kar do. Idol smoothly but will not pick up refs . Blue smoke when starting smoke for 3minits an it is liter and so to say gone.🇿🇦

Maybe the catalytic converter hides most of the smoke. My car burns around 1L/2500km and there is just a tiiiiny puf at start-up. No leaks.

You dont have to take off timing chain,trust me!just put emergency brake on or if its manual make sure you have it in gear!

NO! you don't want the car in gear otherwise you cannot rotate the crank shaft to get TDC. E brake only

good thing the catalytic converter is optional and not needed for the engine to make power. Even if politician's are of a different opinion, the laws of physics say otherwise.
