I think some people are doing it wrong. Dating doesn't mean becoming a couple; this phase is meant to let people know each other. It's while dating that you get to see compatibility, feelings, etc. It's highly recommended not to have s*x while getting to know each other better if they are looking for commitment. After dating a while both parts can tell if they see/want a future together as a couple. If not, they can even become good friends.

Not that the other narrator they use is bad. Just that she has a voice that I find especially soothing, reassuring, and understanding... even though I know it's solely a one-way transmission where any real interconnection is frankly impossible, and *logically* , only the *data* should matter. Still works as a non-threatening and supportive voice that makes these videos easier to engage with internally.

Before I married my husband, we were friends for five years. And we talked about the big things: how our finances would work, whether we wanted kids, and we gave fair warnings to our worst bits of our personalities (understanding that those things about us could and would change in time) There’s been a lot of change from where we started and it wasn’t bad at all. But you have to be really accepting of behaviors being borne from traumas. (I mean being non confrontational because you had a parent with an anger problem, not letting someone hit you or otherwise because it’s what happened to them- get those people help or away from you) It’s been almost a decade and it’s only felt like we got married a month ago. I’ve never felt so loved .

The man I'm with now and have been for 5 years, we talked for about 6 months and thought we were really getting to know each other. Things were wonderful for quite a while, he then started showing a very mean spirited side of himself. He would feel really bad the next day, apologize, then return to the sweet guy I fell in love with. This roller-coaster has continued and he blamed his harsh words on his cheating 1st wife. I tried to believe him because I too had been cheated on in my 1st marriage. Since about 6 months ago things have gotten only worse. He said he thinks he's suffering from depression and anxiety and started seeing a Dr and a therapist. I've tried to be supportive and stand by him but my heart is getting more tattered from these sudden mood swings. Our kids have grown close to each other and us as a couple, their hearts have been broken once already. I've tried to teach them that everyone can make mistakes and about forgiveness. Their little hearts aren't as tough as mine, could this be the time to bring this roller-coaster ride to a stop permanently?

I think you already know what you need to do, darlin’. Healthy love is hard to maintain though, you have to really commit to the idea that nothing is ever going to be “normal” and prepare yourself and your kids for what real love looks like. its messy, its childish at times and its not always rewarding but we’re always working with our ACE scores, and we have to be intentional. ❤
@justme9818
@justme9818 12 күн бұрын
My heart goes out to you. That's why I've written so much. I didn't intend to - it just poured out of me. I'm so sorry this is where you find yourself. Especially when your kids are involved. It makes the decisions so much harder. I can offer you some thinking points... In his quest for change, how much tangible change has occurred? A warning sign can be the constant promise of change -accompanied by all the right words and even good actions - but ultimately no lasting results. No change, just more reasons for why things are bad. This can indicate a lack of deep enough motivation for change. In this case, change will always be on the horizon, but never in real life. Where are you, yourself, on his list of priorities? Not your relationship, or the kids, just you. You've mentioned supporting him. Is he supporting you? Not just with words, or when you ask him, but instinctively, is support coming from him? Where is he offering tangible practical love or support to you? I've been unlucky enough to find men who said the right things, and promised the right things but never followed through. Just kept me waiting. There were always viable, understandable excuses, but eventually I realised they just weren't willing to put in the work required to become the people they said they wanted to be. They expected me to put in the work and support them. It was really painful to face this. I never faced it on time. I waited until the last dregs of hope were gone. I didn't realise how much it was costing me. Even afterwards it took a sort of brutal, leave my emotions to one side practical stock-take to face reality. It's not worth letting it get that far. But... if, after answering these questions you think there's enough change occurring, and enough mutual give and take within the relationship to support you, then you might just need more support while he's sorting himself out. Eg.. couples therapy, so he realises how much this is taking out of you and can take more responsibility. Or hire a housekeeper once a week to take the load off you as a busy mum while this is going on. -Anything to lighten your load. He would have to know you're in need of more support, and be actively supporting you to get it. If that's happening then I think it's a good sign. Lastly, I understand, intimately, the pain of making decisions that will disrupt your kids' lives. Experience has taught me that a situation that's bad for the Mum will ultimately become bad for the kids. It just takes a lot longer. So if you decide this is bad for you, and leave, the pain they grow through now will be less than the pain of staying, and things getting worse, and then leaving. And, as awful as the disruption might be, they will learn about creating healthy boundaries. They will learn when something isn't right, how to say no. And learn not to expect you to be the person holding everything together when it's not fair. These are awful experiences, but really important lessons for your later in life relationships with your kids. If you're in the Northern hemisphere, summer holidays will be coming up soon. It can be a good time to shake things up, even experimentally. The beginnings of change, one way or another, can be gently introduced with the break up in the school routine. I really hope your situation can be helped. But if it can't, you will actually be ok. If you're strong enough to notice things aren't right, even though it rarely feels like it, you will be actually strong enough to take whatever action is required. ❤

@@user-ey5rm5zd8b hi, I imagined that was likely. But the links between language and personal development run a lot deeper than people seem to realise. Language is a huge part of how we form our character/personality. Continuing to develop language skills in adulthood is a sure way to create personal growth. It's kind of a magic way to grow without getting into therapy/psychology. The more literate a person is, in any language, even effects the structure of the brain itself! (Mad but true!)

We’ve been texting for months nonstop ever since, but.. we get horribly awkward around each other in person and so we haven’t said anything face to face besides hi. Haha hopefully that doesn't happen to you! Good luck!

I really like these videos so my question isn't at all a criticism, it's an honest (and lifelong) conundrum...Doesn't it take a really long time to get to know all these things? If you have a crush on someone, how do you slow down all the feelings enough to spend all this time with someone and not get too involved?!

Literally everyone is like “my parents won’t let me date yet :(“ but we are in 6th grade. There are a lot of ‘couples’ and all they do is sit next to each other at lunch and have a crush on each other. Get it real people! That’s okay to do!

I had two girlfriends, one pretended to cut her wrist just to manipulate me into doing something then dumped me because i realised what was going on, the second one cheated on me with 2 guys. After that i didn't have any crush because most of the girls pretended to like me just to finally make fun of me or just crush my hope when they felt like it. Time has passed it was about 4-5 years ago since i had someone and i realised i'm not going to get loved anytime soon, hope that everyone who reads this will.

Suggest to go on a hike together. If you think it is too scary to do that with just you two, suggest to go on a hike with a small friend group instead. Then there's plenty of time to talk and at the same time you're not forced to talk all the time during the hike.

Step 1 is to find a location and a route to take. Step 2 is to announce you are organizing a hike. Is there a local chat group that you are both member of? For example, a Discord group? Then you can announce that there. Step 3 is asking if she would like to join the hike. If possible, you could try to ask her in person.

In fact, I just applied this idea myself. I even went a step further by involving my crush in the process of organizing the hike. I did make sure to come up with a route first, discussed this with my crush and then she announced the hike. And she is very excited to go on a hike with a group. In about two weeks she and a few mutual friends will appear at my front door. I chose a route that starts just 3 minutes walk away from my house.

Well i just have an issue... I letarlly can't understand anyone i like it's just that I can't trust if they're truly care about me or not Especially when i have an online crush I don't have any problems with online friends but if IT WAS ABOUT MY CRUSH I can't just trust them I overthink do he really care about me? Aren't he just using me to have some fun or wasting his time? Is the character he shows me just an act? I just saw the others experience and i am afraid of trying I don't want to waste my time my energy for a guy i can't even trust HOW I WILL EVEN GET MARRIED IN THAT CASE
@NotTchno

I actually have some experience with this stuff myself, so I’ll help. Speaking as a guy, guys can be pretty confusing when it comes to being online. Being online will make them more likely to let their personality shine. Quite a bit of guys get nervous talking to girls face-to-face, but when they are talking via text or any form of online communication, they feel safer, more protected, and much more comfortable, being in their own house. A lot of things you hear him say will probably be true. He will probably show his true side and not just a character that he brings out when he’s with you/talking to you. That brings me to a few possible conclusions. 1. Ignore everything I just said and ask his friends about him. 2. Try flirting with him via text, as he will be more open when online. 3. Ignore everything I just said and risk it for the biscuit by asking him out.

I see a great value in this episode. I have a feeling that this is one of those MORE special ones with big power in them. And the beauty of this piano melody only made the information stronger and more reachable to the heart. Im' thankful for it and I'm going to mention it in today's gratitude journal entry. Because... soon there will be a whole year since I started to write it. And I this time I didn't give up on it. And it really works when I look inside it and remind myself those small things. which make me smile and which I would forgot by now if I wouldn't writer about therm. And I do want to remember this important episode.

can I have some help... I don't know if I like this person and I don't know if I want to... can anyone tell me how you know ? also I don't know if he likes me... his friends always say stuff to me like, "hey (my name(female)), (the kid) likes you"; "hey, m/ n, t/k wants to message u every night" and "t/k look, points at me its ur wifey" but in the few instances when I had to speak to him... he would just back away and be all shy. I later found out he has anxiety so I was in the process of getting acquainted with him but that just kinda.... FAILED. One of my friends asked him if he likes me and he shaked his head (as no) and ran away and a month ago his friend asked me if I liked him and I said I'm not allowed to date but I was trying to get him to be part of my band and that failed too. This whole thing is way to complicated and I don't what I should do. He's a nice kid but he's closed off.... anyway, I've decided to be a little "mysterious" and play along with his friends comment BUT CAN THE TRAINED GODS HELP ME??

Why do I even bother to watch these videos? The quality and advice is amazing. But no female has ever showed interest in me throughout my life. Except 2 mentally unstable ones that hurt me pretty bad in the end. Never anyone genuine. Doesnt help when you are a tech guy, network and audio engineer, 5'5, receeding hairline, ADHD, and social struggles. My chances fall significantly, and I have kind of accepted that i will most likely be alone for the rest of my life. Despite all this, you have my support and I appreciate the content you produce. :)
