Do you try and sew a lot of gifts or just a few? Which of these will you try first?

I made book pillows for 8 grand- nieces and nephews 2 years ago and included 2 age appropriate children's books my kids loved. Their mothers mentioned that I made quilts solast year, after I retired in April, I made a quilt for each one. Composition notebook covers were planned for this year but this would also be great for youngest ones.

I haven’t made a quillow in decades (!), but if I remember correctly, there is another way to make the pillow. After folding into thirds, flip the item, then fold as you did until you get to the pocket. You can then fold it, again, tucking the fabric into the pillow.

I think that would work too! I gifted the quillow so I can't test it out

I turn the magic pillowcase into a drawstring gift bag as an extra present. Put a button hole on either end of the accent strip, making sure you make both on the same side of the fold and be aware of seam allowance. Sew it on with the botton holes facing the body of the pillow, and you don't even know that they're there when you take the string out to use it as a pillowcase. 🤫 It's really fun to give kids a sack full of presents that they can keep and use as a pillowcase! My mom and aunt did that when I was a kid, and we all loved it! They just made a simple drawstring sack the size of a pillowcase, but the magic pillowcase makes it so cute and easy, with the folded cuff for a nice top to the bag and a channel for the drawstring. 😘

Thank you so much for these tutorials. They were nice refreshers for some of the items I’ve made before. I want to make some crayon rolls for our Guild to sell at our Quilt Show Boutique. I have been buying the crayon boxes for 50 cents when they go on sale so I’ll have plenty.

I have sewn pillowcases to use as gift bags for my grandchildren. After they open their presents they put the new pillowcase on their pillow and watch a Christmas movie!!

Tara, it would ve nice if you could add the time stamp to the beginning of each project in the list in the description.

Whoops! I’ll add it now but it’s also at the very bottom so KZbin can do chapters. Sorry about that!

I'm left-handed, but have had to adapt to the world being made for right-handers, so it has made me almost ambidextrous. 😅

I’m right handed but do a lot of things like a lefty because I was brought up by two lefties!
