I will share tips and tricks on how to get better at chess and improve your chess rating quickly and push past 1200 to reach 1300,1400, and beyond. I will talk about how to avoid making blunders as often, how to properly defend a pawn storm attack on your king, how to avoid the back rank checkmate, how to better handle chess endgames, and the importance of the 2nd and 7th ranks in chess. Please comment below and let me know if you've passed 1200 for the first time!

What's REALLY nice about these videos is that you understand exactly what we struggle with and use data to back up your tips. There's a lot of GMs that will do some video tutorial and try to explain overly complicated and specific concepts that the majority of chess players will not benefit from. I don't know how you do it, but you're truly an anomaly of all the chess teachers out there, and every video helps me and others progress in some capacity.

Yeah most of my losses are not applying the blunder check or making endgame mistakes. I can't get the mindset in the middle of a game to check for blunders before making a move and then I forgot and horrible things happen Update: i applied the blunder check and in 4 days I gained 30 points in blitz and 50 in rapid. That was helpful

Nice video, this is about where I am stuck rating-wise. If I really pay attention, I notice everything you mention. For me, it's the lack of patience causing a blunder that gets me most of the time. I'm just getting better at seeing the knight fork coming in now. That one used to kill me every time!

Yo this is pretty cool. I'm kind of questing to find the kind of themes(maybe) of like 1300-1400 rated tactics. Like when I do a puzzle rush, it's where I likely get caught. (like if I make it past, then hitting 1700,1800, sometimes even 2000 is kind of a breeze in comparison.) Like there is something unique in the calculation in that particular rating range that doesn't make any sense in my mind. Worst part is, I'm not even sure how to ask the question in a sensible way. First time commenter. Won't hold it against you if this doesn't reach your priority list. Just liked the video, shot in the dark on the ask.

Happy to see you as i typed 'chess 1200 score' i got to 1250 2 weeks ago. But i cant break through. I am good in endgames and average in openings, but my main mistake is the middle games. My mistakes are : 1) no longterm thinking, 2) get always overwhelmed by the attacks eventually (despite the fact i am very defensive 3) i dont know how to attack(i mainly win by surviving at the end) Your video taught me : 1) delay early castling 2) dont panik when incoming pawnwave and counterattack 3)importance of the 2nd and 7th row Thanks bro

At 12:38 it is best to check the opponent's bishop to see which color it covers and choose your castle pawn advancement accordingly. So then in this case it might be better to advance the g2 pawn rather than the h2 pawn.

Defend the king from pawn storm: 1. Delay castling by 1 or 2 move 2. Offensive can be the best defense 3. Side flank should be replied with center push 4. Wait until opponent push a pawn to blockade

So around 3:00 plus or minus, it feels like castling is fine here, but I'm never 100% sure. There are a lot of other moves that protect the king, but castling seems really good unless I'm missing something else. The bishop on f8 will need some assistance joining the attack on the king side, so if there is an attack to be made, I'm unable to find it with a shallow evaluation on my part. I guess if white castles, I'm really unsure what the best response is to Bd5... maybe Qe2 protecting white's advanced pawn and protecting the Queen?
@mtaur4113
@mtaur4113 2 жыл бұрын
At 8:55, I'm a little worried about black's Queen pinning the pawn on the g file, and then the bishop taking on h3. Of the pawn pushes black had available, this one seems to be stronger and I'm not sure how it pans out. These threats are remote for now and there are moves yet to be played.
