That probably goes up to 1500+ if i was guessing. I played a 1300 player on lichess and i was rated 700 on chessdotcom. I 2-0ed him all because he made many little mistakes in the middle game and end game that just snowballed. If he knew some opening trap he might have destroyed me, but i guess 500 elo difference isnt that much. I was also playing very well that day.

@khalid Ismail I think it's actually against chess.com's terms you agree to to make a new account with a different rating than your main account. So it's unfair if you think you're playing against someone with your own rating but are actually playing against an IM. So it's better to restore their ratings.

Levy at 45:50 you said you don't want to exchange defenders of your King. But as i remember some masters suggest exchanging pieces when you feel stuck. Is there a basic method to distinguish these two?
@GothamChess
@GothamChess 4 жыл бұрын
When your king is being attacked, it's important to trade off the CORRECT piece. Often times a queen trade or a rook trade (or even the correct bishop/knight trade) helps the defending side. You can also trade pieces when you are lacking space, yes, or trade pawns. But when defending against an attack, you usually need to reinforce your position with more pieces rather than trading.

I came here from Eric's channel. Watching you with Hikaru and Antonio was enjoyable. I like to watch Eric play because it gives me ideas, but your videos are helping me to become a better player. It's just listening to you think out loud and evaluate. Thanks.

Thanks for this! You got a new viewer. Great train of thought analysis. Appreciate it a lot. Sometimes when I watch GMs it's fun, but their thought process is not relatable

His first language is probably not english, so don't blast him for not having the best of grammer. I really don't understand what you accomplish through it, besides showing your ignorance.

Been watching you for a while but this video is where you got my subscription. THIS is what low rated players need to watch. There are very few resources for players on their 1100-1200, so after the principles you kind of get lost without knowing how to evolve. This is it. Thank you!

The second game was a player that followed GingerGM's Black Lion defense but lost the plot in the too early attack. He also mixed up the opening order but got the desired position. It's a risky attack and needs precise execution/adjustment which he didn't do and hence lost pretty quickly.

i understand where Levy gets the impression of cheat possibility there. At that moment I was thinking 20% cheats or more likely- 80% dude has learned his opening and will fall apart when he is out of prep.
