The back to back LA games were at a great level too with Lebron and AD.

The only real limiting factor I could see in his rookie season was his passing. Not that he’s a bad passer, he’s just not a Jokic level passer. However, he’s being paired with CP3 this season, who’s one of the best passers ever, and also Harrison Barnes, who’s a great shooter and hopefully will help Wemby there.

I still hate how wemby was robbed of dpoy his rookie year. Beat Rudy gobert in pretty much every defensive category. They just gave it to Rudy because his team was better. Even though the wolves defensive rating literally GOES UP when he’s not on the floor. Makes no sense
@DatzCanny2 ай бұрын
So true. I also think he didn't get the award cuz he was a rookie. There's never been one to win DPOY before, and I'm convinced that was a huge factor in league voters' minds

Wemby is in the best possible situation currently since he’s in San Antonio learning from Pop, big men like Duncan and Robinson, and the team has so many draft picks they can basically mold a team around victor

@@deemeaks8135 this way they can develop the team around him. He’ll have a great team in two years (lebron made finals four years after 1st season). In a good team he’d face so much pressure to succeed immediately but here he can experiment and become the greatest wemby of all time

The only thing that can stand in his way is injuries. But let’s not forget, Embiid would have been the best center in the NBA and would have at least 3 MVPs right now if it wasn’t for all his injuries. Once a player that big starts to get injured, it rarely ever stops. His skinny frame really concerns me, because at 20 years old, he should weigh at least 235 at that height and have noticeable muscle mass by this point. Wemby is 7’4 and only weighs 209 lbs (to put that in perspective, I’m 5’11 and 185 lbs with 12% body fat, and I can only bench 180-205 for a few reps, despite being a multi sport athlete. So wemby is likely even weaker than me, which is saying something considering I’m no gym rat, I’m just in good shape) It’s possible he just has yet to finish puberty but given his height I doubt that, some players just don’t have the right genetic build to turn out built like Giannis. Giannis has a mesomorph body type, which is ideal for athletes who want to balance strength/agility, Wemby has an ectomorph body type, which while kind of common in basketball for taller players, isn’t the ideal body type when it comes to strength/durability, only for agility/finesse/stamina. Almost all of the greatest centers were mesomorph or endomorph builds. (chamberlain, Kareem, Hakeem, Howard, Bill Russel, parish, = mesomorph) (Shaq, Embiid, Jokic, Malone, Ewing, Robinson, Artis gilmore, Yao Ming = Endomorph) and even the endomorphs outside shaq were essentially just thinner endomorphs on the border of mesomorph. Wemby doesn’t have a mesomorph body type and that so concerning when talking about durability/longevity/strength
