What about the superpower to "freeze time" to access the pause menu or inventory? Walk into an embarrassing situation? Pause life and load the last save. Change into a new outfit so you aren't recognized. Grandma brought you a bunch of cookies for your birthday but your big sister tries to snitch them? Skyrim time. You eat them all right then.

Dear Rob, After 70 hours and 54 minutes, I've done it. I've platinumed Final Fantasy 15. That brings me up to 6 platinums. Destiny, Jak and Daxter, Sly Cooper and Sly 2, and Horizon Zero Dawn. I did all FF15, Destiny, and Horizon because your plat videos inspired me to try and top all of the PlayStation Access team. Now... to Dark Cloud 2 aka Dark Chronicles 2 for you Europeans. As much as I would love to be able to rewind I'm also really, really glad I can't. I'm such an anxiety ridden person and I constantly second guessing myself so if I had this power I would use it nonstop. I would end up incredibly manipulative because I would micromanage every conversation, every decision and based on other people's reaction I would adjust acordingly for the best possible outcome. Maybe I'd never get satisfied either, just thinking about what could have happen if I just.... never truly connection with people and always having the power in the realtionship. I know I'd end up as a monster or at least a medicore villain.

The reason why we don't have levitating cars is because the magnets that cause them to function are metals that need to be supercooled to -270 degrees Celsius which is far too low a temperature for us to put in an open environment. People have been working on the technology for quite a while now but they can only get the superconducting magnets to work at about -130 degrees; in order to get a functioning electromagnet to levitate cars we would need to be able to get the metals to superconduct at around 20-40 degrees in order for them to function 'outdoors' so there's the problem.

magnets are not the only way to levitate a vehicle the thing that prevents it the most is human error the majority of drivers won't go through life without having at least 1 car to car impact and that's held solid to the ground essentially traveling in two dimensions. you add flight into that with the possibility things or vehicles may come from above or below and you increase the likelihood of collisions, combine that with collisions now happening at deadly elevations even if they are just hovering the reduced friction will make it near impossible to reduce speed rapidly enough to avoid an accident. with no wheel it is assumed the vehicle will be accelerated forward by thrust so to decelerate they will need thrust to push back with precise alignment to the forward motion otherwise it will force the vehicle to veer from its course possibly into a worse situation than they are trying to avoid.

Also think of the efficiency and reduced waste there would be if we just made tools and gadgets that did more than one thing? The device from Singularity: Messed up the instructions on an IKEA manual? No problem just reverse the age of the desk and BAM instant redo. R2D2: Because who doesn't want a droid to do what they want and double as a best buddy. Gravity shifter from Inversion: need I say more? It's all the powers of Kat from gravity rush but you can apply it to anything! (Kat is still way better) Last but not least: Pipboy - this advanced piece of tech can literally manage your life! Forogt what you promised your mum last week? Check the miscellaneous quest log. Don't remember if you packed the hiking boots for the camping trip? Check inventory. Itching to play some Red Menace with the lads? PLUG THAT HOLOTAPE BOY!

So just to clarify Rob, one of your favourite (if not THE favourite) gaming franchises is Metal Gear, a series about covert operatives infiltrating secure locations without being seen (well, ideally). And as well as this your picks for inventions would enable you to see without being seen, uncover things you aren't meant to know, and self-aggrandise in a consequence free environment, and as additional "bonus" you would also use these powers to grossly inconvenience others - this either speaks to very dark motives, or else you essentially want to turn real life into videogames! (with an option to engage in multiplayer trolling via traffic light based tomfoolery). Myself I'd like Batman's suite of utility belt gadgets from the Arkham series (and the skill to use them). Mainly for the batclaw if I'm honest as sometimes you just can't be arsed with stairs can you? Or getting up for the remote. I'm sure I'd find a use for the freeze grenades and everything else too mind. Not so much an invention but I would quite like the transmute spell from Skyrim but that turns lesser coins into pound coins.

For me it would be easy. SAM from Mass Effect Andromeda. The V.A.N.S. fast travel thing from Vault Tec. And a Pip Boy. Phones do a lot but do they show how many rads there are or topographical maps of your surroundings based on scans? Nope. Google maps gives bad directions sometimes too! And with a compass you have to adjust to true north. So yeah, Pip Boy. I wonder if the 'stat' menu would be like a pedometer, and the 'quest' menu would be your shopping list or to do list. Ha!

for a high school physics project my partner and I got to research and theorize flying cars. the way we presented it was putting eletro magnets on cars and roads. magnetic fields at the edge of roads and on cars would eliminate car accidents and off road collisions. road kill would still be an issue. anything under the car would get flattened thinner than paper.(i forget the exact numbers but it was a stupidly high amount of force). another problem would be cost. in a small scale test (ie a small city or town) it is techinally possible but the amount of metal needed to build roads would be way to much (as of now) which would lead to stupidly high taxes.

Star Ocean 4 - The Translator (as invented by the Eldarians) basically it's like google translate but it works INTERGALACTICALLY and it works in real-time so it automatically translates the speech - Rob knows. I think the most overpowered piece of technology in all of gaming is the command block from Minecraft. If you had one in your bedroom you can just walk towards it and type a command in it and this would allow you to make unlimited food and money out of thin air or kill or teleport everyone you want instantly and build and destroy as many buildings as you want or give you creative mode which would then allow you to do all of these things without the command block. The command block couldn't be carried around but it would also be indestructable except by itself. I would be REALLY surprised if you ever found anything better.
