6 violin techniques to practice every day for better sound

In my 15 years of teaching violin, I’ve noticed a topic that is confusing for a lot of adult learners: how to structure their technique and warmup practice.
In this video post, I wanted to discuss six things that I think that every violinist should be practicing in some form at every practice session- some of these will be more geared towards intermediate to advanced players, but most will apply to beginners as well. I hope to give you a few more things to add to your practice routine and some ideas for how to practice them.

Excellent advice. If I'd started 'double stops earlier they wouldn't be the difficulty that they are today. I can do them but they do take cerebral observation and physical attention to the notes _ I'm at 6-8grade AMEB (Australia) so they should be a breeze for me but they're not, they take diligent attention to the task. These were great tips which I'll be interesting into my daily practice regimen, for sure. Thank you, Julia. You've really made my day and it's 05:45 here in Australia at present so I want to practice NOW and i guess I'll have to be grateful, and employ my full practice mute for this.
