I am having trouble with using this method. I am trying to record to my DAW, but I have used other programs and have the same result.When I plug in everything like is shown, the audio records fine but I cannot hear anything coming from the speakers. If I then unplug the adapter from my computer and then replug it, I am able to hear the sound from the speakers but the audio recorded is very very quiet with lots of white noise. Is there a way to get this to work for both?

Hi, sorry to hear you are having trouble. So you are recording into a computer's mic port instead of a phone? There's a strong possibility that your computer's mic port is TRS or TS, not TRRS. Which means that it isn't compatible with the mic splitter adapter. If that's the case, you'll be better off using a USB Audio Interface and bypassing the mic port entirely. You'll be happier with the sound quality that way too.

Oh this sounds awfully similar to my problem.

what if i want to record audio and video with a line in to my phone, would it work the same way? Like basically using the video cam but getting the sound straight from the volca, not the phone mic...?
@minimal.camera11 ай бұрын
Definitely possible, but chances are you'll need an audio interface to go between the Volca and your phone if you want reliable audio quality. You can record with your phone's mic input (if you get the right adapter for that), but the quality won't be very good. There are some instruments that can connect to a phone via USB and act as an audio interface directly, this gives you perfect sound quality. The Elektron Model:Samples is a good option for this, and it is very similar to the Volca Sample. The Digitakt takes it even further, as it lets you record both its own internal sounds, and whatever you plug into its inputs.

@@minimal.camera I have a presonus AI. If I go from volca to AI to phone like you have here and record video, would the sound be basically the same as recording to say, Bandlab? Basically, I want to do volca jams and post them to YT. Thanks!

Hi I bought the same audio trrs splitter cable. Downloaded the same bandlab app. Korg volca sample connected with standard trs cable to the splitter but the amplitude is very tiny even at max volume on the volca knob. How do I fix this? Also the app doesn't detect the music from the volca when I plug it into the "microphone" logo port, only the "headphone" port... What is the issue? Can anyone help me please? Thanks a lot.
@minimal.camera4 жыл бұрын
Sounds like the trrs plug isn't lining up with the port. Or possibly your cable adapter is defective. Input definitely should not come through the 'headphones' side. Try pulling the cable slightly out of your phone's trrs port and see if you can get it to line up properly.
@bowieknife4 жыл бұрын
@@minimal.camera I will try that but it works as it should on my ipod touch! I guess the oneplus 5 doesn't have a trrs compatible port. Thanks a million!

Is this supposed to work with Volca Keys? I don't get it to record anything
@minimal.camera4 жыл бұрын
Yes, you should be able to record a Volca Keys (or any Volca) using this same technique. Are you using this mic splitter adapter? www.ebay.com/itm/3-5mm-Stereo-Audio-Male-To-2-Female-Headphone-Mic-Y-Splitter-Cable-Cord-Adapter/313065028923?hash=item48e4213d3b:g:tAkAAOSwYxBcqQvP A regular headphone splitter won't work, it has to be a mic splitter.

Not exactly this, but similar. Splits into Mic and headphones

Hmm, not sure, maybe try with a basic voice memo app?

Mic splitter adapter to 2x TRS or 2x TRRS?

I believe this is the one I used: www.ebay.com/itm/302433929954?hash=item466a778ae2:g:HtQAAOSwqnZdEqOQ That's single TRRS to dual TRS

It should! The phone app accepts any incoming audio source.
