You have taught me more in the 4 videos I have watched so far than I have learned in 3 weeks of other videos. Thank you so much for spending all this time for us novice weavers!

Thank you for this tutorial, it was so helpful. I love weaving, but finishing off I always get nervous about. I have a fairly large weaving ready to come off the loom, but I think I will practice these techniques on small pieces first, to gain confidence. The large piece is for a prominent place in my home, so I want it to look good. Thanks again.

Hi!!! Great video. Thanks so much for explaining everything so thoroughly. Could you let me know what loom you are using and what cotton yarn you prefer to working with? Thanks so much!

This was such a great tutorial - thank you so much!! Can the last technique be used for bigger weavings in your opinion? I don’t want to make my weaving as long as my loom as I think I made it too big!
@fibersanddesignweaving4 жыл бұрын
Hello! Thank you for that great question! You know, I also struggle with that sometimes too. I think that it really depends on the weight of the piece and the materials used. In this tutorial, the warp and weft (and added yarn) were the same color, so they didn't have any problem "blending". Also, this piece was also small and didn't weigh much. So it worked well- however, I have tried this with larger pieces and I didn't like the result so much. The area where you add the new yarn tend to have a gap, and I didn't really like that. It is a bit of trial and error- but in my experience, when weaving a larger piece, I try to calculate how much warp to save for the hanging section ("warp waste") and choose a warp color that fits the piece. I tend to use the remaining warp to hang pieces (esp the larger ones). I hope this helps! If you have any further questions, please ask :)

Fibers and Design Weaving thank you that’s really helpful! I think I might try the warp waste technique then just to be extra careful!

How did u attached the pom-poms above that?
@fibersanddesignweaving4 жыл бұрын
Hello! The pom-poms forms are created with short rya knots. After the rya knots are added, cut them down to form this pom-pom shape. Hope this helps!

Hi, Gina I love your video tutorials. I have a question, do you weave from the top down and is it easier than weaving bottom up? Thankyou for all the ways to finish the weavings. Jen
@fibersanddesignweaving4 жыл бұрын
Good Question Jen! Well, it varies...I usually weave from the bottom up, but other times a design may change and I continue the design in another way. But, in regards to building the design, usually the design is created under the hands. How do you like to create your designs?

On that last one, couldn't you have taken the wrap back to the middle and done the odd loop there and had more yarn to weave in the end?

Right! :) Just like I did in 16:18 . I wanted to show a few variations in the tutorial :)

Your tutorials are so great, thank you! One suggestion: please use yarn that has more contrast with the surface you are filming on so it is easier to see. This is hard on the eyes!

Thank you for your tutorials. They are clear and useful. However, this one is too long and too slow. Hard to finish it. It would be so much nicer to have six short videos, one for each method, so as to easily find our favorite one and see it as often as necessary.
