Thank you again for your videos. I will get my green egg this Thursday and watched a bunch of your videos and feel like im good to go. You seem to be the only Chanel that produces consistent green egg content. I ordered a FOGO Blazeball and some FOGO coal and hope I will enjoy the green egg.

Awesome, thanks. Another thing to point out is that charcoal is made of wood or other agricultural waste, so it will catch. That’s part of the mythology of charcoal and lighter fluid : that charcoal doesn’t want to naturally “go” or light on fire. Even to the point that a regular guy like me -on whom the meal depends-has to STILL ask you about this video : DID the fire keep going and spread out after initially lighting in the middle? lol I’ve toiled with some stubborn charcoal.
@FOGOcharcoal2 ай бұрын

Absolutely a great channel and you are helping me enjoy my XL BGE. Thinking about the torch but I read a safety note that is confusing. It says to remove the tank when not in use. Won’t this cause the gas to leak out? Do you keep your propane tank connected to the handle?
@FOGOcharcoal2 жыл бұрын
Hi Stew! Thanks so much, we are glad you’re enjoying it! I have had my torch for a few years and the only time I’ve ever taken the bottle off is to change it when it’s empty and that’s not very often. I’m not saying to go against the manufacturer recommended usage but just what I have done.

I was going to a beach where usually I could always find something easy to light up and using those things to light up the charcoal. Recently on the same beach it is rare to find anything, people doing the same are more. I need to try the paper soaked in the coocking oil, as an alternative it seems interesting. Hope it will work :)

As a Floridian, I'm prone to watching many BBQ's on public grills at Billy Baggs. It's common to view a good number spray lighter fluid while meat is on grill. 😂 I just got my first my Green Egg, and I'm nonchalant as you with metal cage with fire starters and just throw it in. IIt's not rocket science. I got a used XL and noticing the improvement. I'll be replacing the gaskets tomorrow in anticipation of Labor Day Pork Butt. Did pork ribs yesterday, and at 230F, an hour more would have probably been better. It's always a feel thing. That said, took advantage of Publix Labor day weekend sales and loaded up on 2 for 1 on ribs and other stuff.

@@FOGOcharcoal I messed up today not removing dome while changing my gaskets. I don't want to waste 1/4 of gasket that failed to stick on dome. Lower lip went fine. I'm waiting for adhesive to arrive tomorrow. On Monday I remove dome and do it right. I thought I'd get away and didn't.

I've been using the Chimney method with Fogo, and one thing I noticed is that it's like a fireworks show on Mt back porch. Should I just be putting the bigger pieces in the chimney? So far, I've just dumped from the bag until it was full.
@FOGOcharcoal2 жыл бұрын
I don't really recommend the chimney method with lump. If so, dump it earlier. We always recommend to use FOGO Fire Starters. www.fogocharcoal.com/collections/light-your-fire/products/fogo-starters-all-natural-premium-firestarters

I'd honestly like to see a blind taste test of BBQ with one being cooked on naturally lit vs starter fluid. I can't fathom how you could tell the difference. When those coals are white, they are so freaking hot, it's burned off the starting fluid a long time before you even put meat on the grill.
