For the plan that you are in the main thing to take into consideration is the flow of claims that you have to deal with. Im in Miami and I make a good profit out of my 13 cars. But I average 0.8 claims per month. All my cars are family oriented. I know host with sport cars that average 1.4-1.7 claims per month.

You need to account for depreciated value due to the wreck too.

I tried the any trip strategy but were getting the guests with low funds and disregard of the rules of Turo. Also 1 day day trip could ruin a long trip that is already booked but maybe I will put in on one of my cars and try it again.

In my experience most of the guest that have to extend day by day are using the car for Uber eats / door dash etc…. They get paid daily. Which goes against the Turo TOS. Just my experience.

Aubrey, maybe you or someone else might be able to answer this. If I have for e.g. Wednesday night blocked out 8pm-6am. Does this prevent a guest from booking Monday through Friday of that same week? If not this would be an helpful feature for Turo to add.

I have a question for TURO hosts. I’m looking to buy a 8k to 10k car to host on turo but I want to make sure I’m buying the vehicle at market value or below. My issue is I use Kelly blue book, NADA, CarGurus, and a couple of more vehicle market value calculator resources and the prices are all over the place. Some say the vehicle I’m interested in is worth 6k some 9k and some 12K. Anyone have an accurate resource they use that comes close to TUROs payouts if a vehicle is totaled?

Aubrey, im also power-host in DFW area. Do you have any opinions about not parking allowed at DFW airports since 2/15? Be honest. Most of my guests are booked from DFW pickup/off but no we lost it. Lmk if you have any idea or welcome to conversations

I think most hosts understand the one day booking value but unless you are a full time Turo host its Not worth the hassle

She recommended trying it as most guests extend the trip and not just keep it for one day. The automated messaging service increases the likelihood of this.

@@AD-se7ty I know all that and I tried it and worked out well and some extend, but the time involved , cleaning etc wasn't worth it for me. Time is money so for full time hosts is fine imo.

​@@aljenabi3230my strategy is to utilize the multi-day discount function. I still allow one day booking, but mark it as a much higher price (or say the normal price), then provide a big discount for multiple day rentals. I will still get some bookings for one day because my car has unlimited mileage. So if anyone needs to drive a long range they are usually ok with my over-priced 12 years old Honda Civic. And the ones who booked my car for over a week never drove a very long range.
