The new Tarantula VTOL craft will pretty much demolish shards and any other ground target from a safe distance as long as there are no enemy fighters to kill it.

So If you're like me and are not confident in your ability to use the radar jammer consistently (how do you even jam them when not moving 90° off angle?). I'd recommend carrying a few missiles to shoot the ram's down. Great vid btw this game is way too underappreciated.

Naturally the radar terrain masking alt is 20m and below but when using your on board jammer it will raise the radar terrain masking alt to 50m and under

Is the CIWS on the shard affected by the jamming pods? Usually, Point Defense knocks out a good 30% of missiles I fire at them. I also would recommend augers if there are several ships like in Breakout. Fling them at close range while sea skimming with a revoker, and they usually can tank any PD fire at them and practically guarantee a kill with a single bomb.

CIWS on the Shard has a max range of 2km so the big thing with getting past it is speed and shorter distance so it has less time to react, I've also noticed top down attacks like with PAB-80LR's tend to get thru easier
