Unrelated story, but when I was four, I wanted to eat some seaweed in those plastic box package thingys. I asked my sister to get a box for me (because I was too short to reach it) and I was happy eating my seaweed on the couch. My sister didn't remove the silica gel package like my mom did whenever she gave it to me. So, being the curious little four-year-old I was, I ripped open the silica gel package and started eating the stuff. My mom came over to sweep the floor, she noticed tiny little white bead things on the floor and saw me holding the ripped silica gel package. Of course, she panicked and told my sister to always remove the package before giving me the seaweed. Everyone in my family was panicking and my mom made me drink some warm honey lemon tea in hopes of...I don't know what they were hoping, but they were trying to make me better. While they were all around the house freaking out, I was just sittin' there dumbly like "Why y'all panicking like that?"

minty the cat Silica is harmless. If she ate the package too then it makes sense that she threw up, but it can't hurt you at all. It's just indigestible which means it comes out of your body looking like it did when you ate it. It says do not eat because so many people were panicking when someone ate one of the packets ,so they just put "do not eat" to stop people from panicking and calling 911 about it all the time.

Good idea for in a salt or sugar container, but the other ideas seem silly. Cell phone: can't actively remove moisture from within "sealed" device. Wind shield: keep throwing packets. Each packet can't hold more than a tsp of water and you are fighting moisture in the air and all upholstery

I'd recommend: putting your phone in rice Put something like a small rock in the sale shaker use a bag clip Put the photos into a boog or digitalize them to but swim clothing into a bag. and just wait a little.

The window one is a great idea. I put a packet in my boots to keep my feet dry.

silica beads are very useful in musty rooms, I won’t use them to keep my snacks fresh, when my teenage niece will finish it before it THINKS on going stale 😂

Silica Gel is very similar to water beads. My theory is that if you ate them, they’d dehydrate you as the absorbed the liquids in your body

once someone told me that the silica balls were used to suck moisture out of the product they were in so if you ate them they would suck all the water out of you and you would die.

My version 1: throw it away 2: trick shot it into a trash can 3: dump it into a dumpster 4: just keep it in there and forget about it 5: touch it and feel really rebellious and then throw it out 6: use it as Monopoly money How you might ask haha we-we I’m not telling
