Really enjoyed your tutorial. Joannes is having a sale on Butterick and Vogue today (July 27, 2024) and since Vogue 2000 seems to be unavailable, I purchased Vogue 1952 and Butterick 6654. The Vogue one looks to be a very close match to 2000. Thank you for your very thorough report!

Thanks so much Roch! I have a few other wrap dress patterns uncut too but I didn’t share in the end because they’re out of Print! Hoping to get some use out of my neglected patterns this year!😅

Kris, Thank you for walking us back through other patterns that might be in our stash! (Guilty) I’m your opposite, I much prefer darts to gatherings (usually) as I find gathering is never exactly where I need it. 🤪 Regardless of sewists preferences, I had a lightbulb moment reading through Joi Mahon's book "Create The Perfect Fit." She talks about comparing your measurements to the pattern, but going much further than just bust, waist, and hip. Apex distance from side seam and from shoulder, underb**b length, distance from b**b base to waist, etc (mind blown!) This really helps me dial in fit regarding where I need space. All the best, Kira

I’m sure lots of us are guilty! Our patterns deserve some spotlight. I’ll check out the book! Thanks for the recommendation. I’m a fitting freak so I spend lots of time measuring. Tracing. Making flat pattern adjustments and the like some of which I’ve shared here and hope to share more of!

Thanks so much for sharing! Great pattern alternatives and many I have in my stash. I too enjoy sewing with woven fabrics and I am looking forward to pulling the Butterick pattern out of my stash after watching your review. I also purchased this pattern after seeing Emily’s makes. Thanks again!

I love the wrap dress look but have not found one on the rack that would keep the girls covered, even with a tube top. For me, mastering the full bust adjustment may be the answer. Thanks for sharing.

I have too many wrap dresses! My favorite are the flock dress from core patterns, and the Cashmerette wrap dress. Ill pass on the big 5 , because I have to make a huge bust adjustment.
@unsewcial7 ай бұрын
I’m glad you’ve found some you like and accommodate the girls! I’ve been sharing full bust adjustments recently! Trying to get more people into it. Just out of curiosity how much of an adjustment will you need if I can ask?

I tried making a wrap dress in crepe back satin in the 1960's. I think it was a Vogue pattern. It looked like a dressing gown. I haven't tried one like it since.

I was referencing Big 5 patterns already in my stash, unfortunately, many of which are fairly old and before Simplicity started providing plus size options.
