#sewing #howtosew #sewingtutorial #fridaysews
Hi Everyone and Welcome Back to My Bucolic Life Channel. Meet my new sewing project.
Using up some stretch velvet to make up this one! It's shorter than a dress and longer than a top and really soft.
Hope you like it!

Such a pretty and probably very comfortable top. It’s a flattering color choice for both of you. 😊 Your daughter was so sweet to model it for your channel. During this extremely busy time you may even want to consider just creating one video per month so you don’t become exhausted! The important thing is to enjoy your days and reduce your stress where you can. Thanks for sharing your process🎉

I enjoyed watching your intro today. Sometimes I fast-forward through it but it was nice to watch this morning -- beautiful. Looking forward to checking out this video. I loved Nancy and this pattern looks great although empire not the best on me. I like your idea to extend. I would do the same for bust size and apex location.

Marie - I love all your content, but half of what makes it so good and so worth the time watching is the joy you take in it and the fun, different projects you do. I never expected a video a week, I don't expect anything at all. I'm just chuffed to bits any time a 'present' arrives from you on youtube. I'd hate it if that became a burden or sucked the joy out of it for you. It wouldn't be a bucolic life anymore, would it? And that's what we're here for, after all. Even if you only put out one video a year I'd pounce on it with glee, be happy to see you again and curious to see what had inspired you this time. You do you... :-) And have a wonderful time with your daughter and the whole wedding process. That's something we don't want you to miss!

Absolutely loved the top on your daughter! It is perfect with leggings. Sewing with stretch is not my favorite, but I have learned to make it work for me. Even though I have stretch stitch on my machines I find a very narrow zig-zag works better. As I have said, I top stitch practically everything for strength and to keep the seams flat so I just go ahead and use that narrow zig-zag again. For everyday and casual ware it's perfect. If I were to make something dressy I would choose a different seam finish. I love your tips and I do find myself employing them. Thank you for describing the threading tip again. While I look forward to your programs on friday I'm am now excited to see your more complicated projects twice a month.

I notice that you iron and steam every kind of fabric. Doesn't it hurt some types or leave water marks?

Sometimes I hover and don't really press, I also tend to use a more medium heat instead of a high heat. Napped fabrics can be tricky no matter what but in general it all works out. Just try on a scrap first.

Are you worried at all that layers of stitch witchery around the neck line will interfere with the stretch? Just curious if it was noticeable? 🤔💙 Thank you 🤩 33:43 I personally love that stuff and agree totally with its use BTW lol
