Hey .... As a carpenter of 27 years experience, I can say that you have done an excellent job !!! From the planning out, placement of the mechanicals, to the attention of detail on the finish, .... Every step of the way, it shows !! I am nearing 63 yrs of age, and are planning a cargo trailer build of my own .... I have watched hundreds of You Tube vids on the subject, and seen maybe a dozen cargo builds in person, along the way .... And honestly, yours has to be in the top 5 (I like practical, and simplicity.....) Easy to replace, when an appliance fails ... (which is enevitable, the way things are made these days ...) "Thanks for posting this, ... Reguards, Eric 👌👍👍👍

Great ideas and little details that matter. I like the idea of converting the back ramp into an awning style. I’ve built several tiny spaces, sailboats, shipping containers, vans, etc. looking to start a cargo trailer soon. Would love to see how you convert that back door.

Brain, I have also built two different Cargo conversions, and have come up with a different way to do the window A/C that works great, and doesn't need any additional fans. Hope to make a video of it sometime soon, just finally got the last part to give it the finished looked I wanted for a video, but spent two weeks out west in 106f weather, and it worked great. Would like to add an additional 1" of foam on the ceiling to get the 2" that you have, I think that would make it work that much better. Due to mine being a 6x12 dark gray trailer, I used a 8k A/C, but think with the 2" of insulation, and a different color a 5k might work. Plus I run mine 100% on solar, so it needed to be able to cool down the trailer faster, since I don't leave it running all day. THe portable units definitely use more power, and provide less cooling.

Hi Brian. There is much about your camper that I like. I built the kitchen very similarly. I squared off the triangle same as you with the fridge in the middle on the floor, no drawer. After I raised the floor level up by laying a floating wood floor the fridge often touches and scrapes. Your design is noted!! Because I did not know about thermal bridging when I built the darn thing the walls get red hot where the steel struts are. It transfers that to the inside and my poor 5k AC unit has a devil of a time keeping the place cool. I redid the ceiling this spring with cedar planking and did double insulate defeating the thermal bridging. That worked very well. I had to move into mine on memorial day 2019. No choice. I was living in a failing semi truck and had to move. The AC was the first thing I installed and I had very little idea what I was doing. I used a 5 k and should have used a 6 k. My hot air outlet is not big enough and has no fan. The inlet is fine and doesn't need a fan. I am now trying to figure out an awning. I want to know about yours and also what fan do you recommend for both the fridge exhaust and the AC exhaust. I hope you have time to reply. I have subbed and I look forward to seeing your AC install videos.

I used simple 4 " computer fans that I purchased from Amazon. I will be doing another video on the AC alone because lots of people are interested in how I set mine up.

@@BRIANPAVLICK Thanks for the response and I will do the same thing. In the spring this year I made massive upgrades to my home. Next year it will be the AC / kitchen area. Fans will be going in. I have started using aluminium profile. I built a solar rack trimming the roof of my camper. I am going to use that to attach some sort of awning. I also plan on completely redoing the drawers and generator slide on my pick up truck again with aluminium not wood. The wood I have found is a pain to work with always twisting and rotting just where you don't expect it. Anyway I look forward to your AC install video.

Look for a "Bar sink." The guy at humble road van builds is nuts over the sink he installs in his vans. He says it's the biggest one he can get into his counters. I'm not sure how deep they are but they are more narrow than yours. Watch that channel for any amount of time and you know that guy is an absolute perfectionist. So, if it's good enough for him...

As someone with zero handyman abilities, i congratulate you on, what looks like to me, a really solid build. I liked everything that i saw except for one thing. Im not sure if you said it or not, but the first thing on my checklist would have been a trailer wide enough and long enough right out of the gate that could accommodate a full size queen pillow top mattress. In my humble opinion, that can make the difference between feeling like you're roughing it and feeling like you got away with having complete stealth camping comfort at a deep discount conpared to those behemoth (relatively) sized trailers that are well into the $30K range. I would love to see a trailer close to this size that accommodates a $2-3K Queen. What a luxurious place to start a build! Maybe when you're pushing 60 with a bad back you'll appreciate that concept a little more, ha! Cheers and congrats on a great build!

This thing is awesome. We got a Transcend new for under 20K that is all aluminum on the outside and standard wood framing that I just love. I had a unit with a slide and it was always giving me fits so the Transcend is slidless and nearly the same interior space due to the layout. I would like to build something like what you have but with fold down bunks so I can use it to haul my ATV while hunting and then park it outside to drop down 4 bunks.

I am a solo female camper and I want/need mine to be self contained and easy access to the things that might need to be changed out (AC, heat, Fridge, microwave, etc). I love how your solar power is color coded toggle switches inside. I love the roll up blackout curtains with the magnets down to the gray water sink dump container. I also have a ramp on mine that I would like to flip. Just need to fine a welder locally that can do the job. I am in Northwest Georgia.

Impressive build with lots of well thought out details. I am in the middle of a 6 x12 V-nose build right now and have a similar size A/C refrigerator which I run off my solar system. My fridge dissipates heat like a chest freezer does through the outside walls of the fridge. Supposing that your fridge does the same, how does you dissipate heat being enclosed in a cabinet? I'm a former appliance and refrigeration repairman.

What a great build! Very clean and tidy. I would recommend a Propex propane heater over the diesel heater. They’re more expensive, but 1) not made in China, 2) don’t give off plastic smell, 3) will hold up much better over time, and 4) no messing with smelly diesel. They produce dry heated air thanks to the heat exchanger. If you use a good quality MPPT solar charge controller like Victron, Renogy, or Redarc, you don’t have to worry about overcharging the battery. Just leave your solar panels plugged in all the time.

super nice build, but replace that Sterilite gray water tank with at a bare minimum a Rubbermaid. Sterilite is known to just snap at any time, and the last thing you want is 10 gallons of water dumping all over the place. Thinking of building my 2nd enclosed trailer this month, my first was just a throw together to stay in for working hurricane Ian, but it was a 5x8. thinking of going to a 6x12 as well, however since I normally sleep solo, going with a twin bed, then spin it 90 degrees, for way more space inside. Super nice build, bookmarking your video for a few ideas. If you reply, can you get me information on what door shocks you used, throw and lbs. then were did you get the magnet door catches. Lucky for me, I live in the trailer manufacturing center for the US, so I will be making a trip to some of the surplus stores to pickup heavily discounted parts. My first trailer is running a 5k AC, with 750w solar, 300AH Lifepro, and a Dometic cooler style fridge, and I'm able to go 100% off grid.. and that's great for boon docking, run the AC for 9-12 hours everyday, plus the fridge 24/7.. and so far never ran out of power, but just a few over cast day could change that fast.
