Honestly, the jamón in spain is so good - you can pick up a whole at LIDL for 30-50€ and it's still way better than your average kinda ham. Oh gosh 😂😂😂 I remember way back I had an Italian fiancé who went to Spain and sent a jamon leg (?) back to my parents in the states as just…a gift and they called me in New York and expressed concern that he’d sent them “some sort of mummified meat with a display rack and knives” I told them to eat it and they truly thought I was joking. My father who had lived in Europe should’ve at least RECOGNIZED it but I think seeing it on their living room coffee table contextually confused him? Every single time I see jamon or prosciutto I chuckle a bit and think about that bewildering phone call 😂😂😂 That said, I’d smash this.

@alvarosandoval50553 ай бұрын
Same with any other breed of pig, but way more expensive. With the back legs they prepare jamón. Same with the front legs, (called paletillas) using the same process. Paletillas are cheaper than jamón. Cured sausages from iberico pig (chorizo, longaniza) also are great because the important feature of the breed is the fat. They also made cured loin, which is excellent.
