This video tutorial will show you how to make great table runners using the 60 degree ruler. This sewing video shows all the steps to make 2 54" table runners from 1 1/2 yards of fabric. We love these using Jason Yenter's border stripe fabrics! #JasonYenter #tablerunner

I have seen this pattern before, but this is the most detailed description. It makes me feel more confident in doing this project.

Thank you for your very clear instructions and I love your vision of saving fabric. I have some boarder prints (all different designs) but only have 1 yard of each. All the designs I have have four repeats. Is it possible to use these instead of the 1 1/4 yards? Rather than having two runners could I just make one using additional triangles from the other four repeats? Two matching runners would be of use, if I only use the 1 yard would that just make the runners shorter? Would this interfere with the pattern design? I just love how the design changes.

You sure can use your prints and make a shorter runner! We are also starting our Fearless Quilting (Quilt As You Go) Challenge starts tomorrow. You might enjoy the technique. When you cut do you cut your strips and leave 1/4” or 1/2 away for your seam line

You said your strip was 8 1/4 top to bottom but I didn't hear how long each strip was.

Your runner will be about 6” shorter than the length of your piece of fabric. Example. If you have a yard of fabric your runner will be about 30” long. Hope this helps. FYI one and a half yards makes about a 53” runner.

How many yards should you buy to make one?
@TheSewingBasket

It depends on the length you want. Usually at least a yard and a quarter.
