Hi Armin! I think there's a lot of beginners here, including myself, who would much appreciate a short guide on what to do when you get your first bow. For instance - how to orient the string (which part up/down), do you twist the string and on which type of bow, do you leave it strung overnight for the first day, maybe how to check for defects of damage from shipping, how to test it, what to be careful with in different types of bows (manchus, longbows etc.) I think it would be cool to see and very beneficial for all. If you find time to do it - thank you very much!

€160 for this bow now... bit overpriced for what you get by the look of it, I´d also rather have the left or right shelf option instead of it being ambidextrous, good review otherwise.

Hello ! Great video, thank you. I have a little archery club and after a robbery (someone stole our 3D target and 2 of our 6 snakes...), I'm looking into replacement for the snakes. I'll look into these ! Two questions : What arrow, lenght, spin, weight are you shooting ? And i'm interested into those haystacks. How long do they last and what size are they ? Thanks and best regards !

same arrows as we usually shoot, carbon sixhundred spine, twentynine inches long. the haybales are pressed and we get them from a local pet supply store for under twenty Euro. We have them now almost six months

Hello Armin, I've been watching your videos for 2 or 3 weeks and I'm already a fan of your channel! :) I have recently made a beginners course and it was mediterranean style (as usual in my country). I'm very interested in thumb release and I want to start with it now that I'm just learning to throw. That's why I would like to get a twin bow for practicing. Honestly, would you recommend this one over the snake? Any other option not so basic? Thanks a lot for all the knowledge you spread.

@ArminHirmer
@ArminHirmer 5 жыл бұрын
Es gibt viele gute Bögen mit 33" und mehr, aber meines Wissens keinen Twinbow. Sind halt alle von der Hand zu schiessen, was ja auch kein Problem ist

Hey, I'm thinking about getting this bow (20-25 pounds) to dip my toe into traditional archery, what sort of arrows should I buy to use with it (wooden, or carbonfiber, grain etc.)? Your videos are great by the way, relaxing and informative at the same time!
@rogerkay8603
@rogerkay8603 4 жыл бұрын
Depends on your draw length, but carbon shafts spined around 700 should do it. Or wooden arrows rated for 25lb recurve.
@preacher3670
@preacher3670 4 жыл бұрын
@@rogerkay8603 Thanks a bunch. I'll look into the 700 spine carbon arrows. The grain also confused me a bit since in one his videos Armin briefly mentions something about 10 grains per pound. Searching around I find a lot of debate about that though, so I guess it's more of a guideline than a firm rule?
@rogerkay8603
@rogerkay8603 4 жыл бұрын
@@preacher3670 Yes, grains are a weight similar to grams, so we talk about GPI for arrows, or Grains Per Inch. A 28" carbon arrow could be around 7.5 GPI = 28 x 7.5 = 210, then you add the weight of the point (60, 80, 100 grains up to 145 or more), vanes or feathers and nock - try to achieve around 350 plus grains per arrow, too light could damage the bow, too heavy and you lose speed/range. Don't worry too much about it though, any off the shelf carbon arrow with standard feathers, nock and points should be fine. Too weak a spine though will affect flight (left or right) as will too stiff but better slightly stiff than too weak.

Even though it's loud, I like the sound it makes. Not my first choice, but for a laminated bow that's not a bad price.
@Jonsoh811
@Jonsoh811 2 жыл бұрын
Just wondering if the sound reduced over time? In other words, which is the quietist bow? The snake bow or mongo bow? I’m looking for something that doesn’t freak out the neighbours horses when I shoot it. My old recurve causes small stampedes due to the sound it makes and I’m interested in horseback archery.
